something about Toy Story toys is so strange to me. versions of animated characters based on real world toys, turned back into toys that are slightly different than the actual toys. slinky dog with a rubber spiral instead of a classic metal slinky. the porcelain bo peep and cloth woody turned into jointed plastic action figures. when toy story 4 came out and i saw a $30 talking action figure of forky, a character made out of a spork and a pipe cleaner, i stood in the walmart toy aisle staring at it like cameron from ferris bueller's day off staring at that painting in the art museum

like it's tricky because there are a lot of cases where forming your politics as a post-hoc justification for your kneejerk reaction will have you saying reactionary things (e.g. disgust in reaction to something sexually non-normative -> "we need to punish these people socially and legally," fear in reaction to seeing a mentally ill person in public -> "we have to expand psychiatric power to keep these people out of the public," etc.) because you Have received a large amount of conservative messaging in your life & your "common sense" & inner narrative are going to reflect that. so you shouldn't do that. but "reactionary" is a word with a defined meaning which describes a desire to regress or "return" to a conservative, largely fictionalized, "simpler" past against social progress. and i understand this sounds like pedantry to a lot of people but when you daily see self identified leftists scolding, for instance, family abolitionists for being "reactionary" because their politics are a "reaction" to child abuse (and in that process reifying the family as a natural and unquestionable structure, which is an Actual reactionary political position) it's like. well kind of maddening!

Listening to the radio while they report on the SCOTUS ruling yesterday that states can ban specifically trans girls and women from girls/womens sports programs. The people they interview: a trans boy with his cis mother and a trans man. The trans man says one of the things that hampers progress is "no one talks to us." Idk man the radio station didn't talk to any trans women, they talked to you, a trans man. Seems like they are pretty willing to talk to you and not the people this ruling actually directly affects.

One of my things that piss people off is that I simply don't let them interrupt me like I'll just keep talking. Uh men especially hate this lol you should try it sometime. Next time you're mid sentence and somebody's trying to cut you off feel free to continue talking just steamroll over them it's fun. Lately it's not even a conscious decision for me I'll realize like after the fact "ohhh I did that thing again" cause I'll finish my sentence and the man in question will just sit there really quiet for a few seconds processing what just happened. I think it kind of confuses them
