You’ve been crushing on Luke since 8th grade/year when he first moved to your town in elementary school. Now being in 11th grade/year you’re still crushing on bad boy Luke - though you try to avoid him as much as possible. You don’t know what you did to Luke to make him hate you so damn much. It seemed as if he went out of his way to make you miserable and an embarrassed mess. Walking in the halls he would purposely bump into you and then tell you to get out of his way, he’d constantly call you names and make fun of your hair. His favourite was saying that you looked like a unicorn shit on your head because of your dyed hair. Luke thought his joke was fucking hilarious - you on the other hand thought it was 1) lame and 2) hurtful. The third period bell rang as you made your way to the library. You had an open no class period third. Plopping yourself in the stiff chair you pulled out your copy of The Hobbit and began diving into Bilbo’s story. Your reading trance was interrupted by someone clearing their throat behind you. Already guessing who it was you rudely scoffed out, “What do you want?” “You’re in my spot, four eyes.” His familiar voice rang through your ears teasing you about your reading glasses. “You know”, you began “That’s funny, Hemmings. I’ve never seen you in a library your entire life. Let alone pick up a book.” you spat back at him. “You know”, he mocked you, “Maybe I’m never seen in this library because I actually have friends, unlike you.” The fucking cockiness in his voice made you absolutely livid. Tears welled up in your eyes and you stood from your seat looking him dead in his stupidly handsome face. “What the hell did I ever do to you, Hemmings? Tell me. What did I ever do to deserve you being so fucking mean to me?!” You watched as his face dropped immediately when he noticed the tears fighting not to fall from your tear ducts. “S-shit, you’re crying. Fuck. Y/N, I’m sorry..” he trailed off. “Did you just apologize to me? You’re kidding me, right? What do you want an award now for being a hero?” you were surprised with your ability to stand up for yourself. “Fuck. Okay, I’m sorry. I am. I don’t know why I’m such a dick to you..it just happens..” he let out a sigh, “Truth is, I think I like you. Wait. No, I do like you and I have since I met you.” You felt your jaw drop wanting to ask if this was a joke but there was a certain type of seriousness in his words that you’ve never gotten from Luke before. “Luke..I’ve liked you since 8th grade/year.” it felt so relieving to finally let out. He exhaled a long breath. “Thank, God. I’m so sorry, Y/N. Can we start over?” His eyes were full with sincerity. “I’d love that.” you agreed. “Hi, I’m Luke Hemmings.”
