I don't think enough people acknowledge the fact that Dyanna and Maekar were likely childhood friends or at minimum, knew each other young. Not just like in a headcannon situation, but in a..."no Maekar may have grown up with her." Now, I am a hammeranvil shipper through and a through (hence the username) but I haven't found any post or story that explores this possibility.
When Daeron became king, or even when Myriah Martell comes to court, she brings her own party--other Dornish ladies. When he becomes king and he starts getting rid of his father's supporters (aka traitors), you best believe Daeron is going to fill the court with people he trusts. You know who he trusts? The fucking Dornish. Dornish people liked Daeron. They liked King Baelor (respected him at least). They were his greatest allies. In fact, one of Daeron's main criticisms is that his court is too Dornish. Further, the Daynes are supposed to look the most Valyrian of the Dornish populace and are one of the most powerful families in Dorne at the time (this is why they're still prevalent by Robert's Rebellion and actually have power in King's Landing).
So yeah, there was definitely a Dayne in Daeron's court. And if there was Dayne, there may have been Dayne children. These children probably played with the royal children. They were probably friends with the royal children. This, and the fact that Maekar's marriage was likely a love marriage (given that there is no political reason to marry Maekar to a Dornish, especially if they're already being accused of being too Dornish and needed allies in the Marsh that were not Dornish) means that Maekar may have known Dyanna from when he was a kid and fallen for her when he was young. He was also one of the first sons to get married despite being the youngest. Why? Maybe because he already knew his wife and loved her.
