Smash up the place!

‘ –i–i said team, dumbass, are you deaf? of course they’re not my family. they’re the team. older an’ not obligated to help me.  i’ve been on my own for four dimensions now an’ fought off versions of them who weren’t all there. believe me, this place is a walk in the park. i’m jus’ glad to get some air.

 ‘ –tch. you wish you were as cool as me at my age. an’ it sounds like we’re both in the same boat. how long you been here? having an easy time avoiding the rest of the fam…team?

“If that’s what makes you feel better.” She shrugs. “I don’t find her that bad honestly.”

It was his duty to watch after the halls, Bucky knew. Most knew the opportunity they had in the capitol's school for the gifted. So they stayed in line. Others were not. Take the Night Witches, for example. Bucky glowered at Jubilee across the quad. Future Shield-fodder. "Hm."

  ‘ –you see anyone else here, dweeb? an’ i could take you, but i’m feelin’ generous so i’ll let it go. so, what’re you doing in this timeline?

“Does that mean you’re calling me a ‘loser’ next?”

“I dunno, you gonna give me a reason to, dweezoid?”

“Yeah, well, you might not get a say there.” She shrugged, a slight grin on her face. Things like this Tandy always had trouble chalking up to choice or coincidence. “Come on, it could be worse.”

     If I get a genuine smile I’ll probably give you one.

     “Whatever it is yer li’l heart desires, darlin’.” Calling over the barkeep with a wave of his hand, Victor leaned forward with both of his tree logs for arms crossing into one and the other.      “Lissen Jeeves, howzitbout y’top me off wit’ what I was havin’ an’ give th’ li’l lady whatever it is she wants. Awright?”      “Sure thing, Boss.”

    This was probably a bad idea. Not that Jubilation Lee, queen of the halls, was known for making explicitly good life choices. She’d lied, cheated, and finagled her way in and out of trouble more times than the school had Doom Bots. She didn’t make good choices, but she made clever ones. They always started bad and she figured things out from there.
