A lone sky kid is spotted in the wild. Usually, they migrate in herds of eight or fewer. To see one in the forest like this implies it is either lost, or an older member of its kind, also known as a “Veteran”, searching for light to bring back to its younger herd members, affectionately dubbed “moths” and “butterflies”.

A couple sways beneath the spotlight. Their feet move in sync to the gentle orchestra that slowly becomes the only thing keeping them tethered to reality. ‘What was this feeling?’ they can only wonder. Warm and familiar, almost dreamlike.

Prompt 1: Waves

A lone sky kid sits on the rocky beach of sanctuary, kept company only by the baby manatee atop their head. They look out at the vast, endless ocean; it was nothing like the dark void of space that they returned to, time after time. But, it held its own sort of beauty, they thought, as they watched fish jump out of the water and glint in the daylight sun, as birds spun and weaved with an almost ethereal manner across the sky. They could hardly tell where the horizon ended, and where the sky began.
