I felt like such a nerd grinning ear to ear and kicking my feet and clenching my fingers at every little detail but it was fun
Again, I miss Hermes, but I digress because every other character was so cool!
Polyphemus is the ugliest baby I have ever had the misfortune of laying my eyes upon /ref like I could handle any other depiction of a cyclops from Epic animatics but that one was pure horror (but in a so gross and weird it’s funny way).
Circe was also awesome I never thought of her actually sculpting and shaping them into pigs with her hands what a disturbing but welcome surprise.
TIRESIAS MY BOY MY BIAS (can mythology characters be biases?) THEY CAN NEVER MAKE ME HATE YOU. Not much to say in terms of how they portrayed him (Epic! Tiresias you are my #1 goat) but I was happy to see him all the same :)

It’s crazy just how into JRWI I am because at the end of the day it’s a podcast. Sure there are visuals and commissioned art and animations but the characters i’ve come to know and love are improvised words from the cast’s mouths. I’m not watching the characters move around like with any other media; I’m watching the faces of a group of friends goofing around whether they’re in the same room or apart. And sometimes you can’t even watch them, they’re just voices in my head telling me the cool shit they come up with and I drink that shit in. And it’s the same 4-5 cast members, plus the goated background editing crew of probably 2-3 people creating these amazing stories.
hi!! i don't know you but i saw your post on the other blog about running out of jrwi to listen to. (crossed my dash) if you're looking for another actual play d&d podcast, i highly recommend dungeons & daddies !!!!!! i switched to it a while ago (from jrwi) & personally really like it. if you finish that i recommend gumshoes & dragons, which isn't really d&d as you'd expect it but has some of the same people & is fun. (side note: season 3 of dndads is call of cthulu, so if you like blood in the bayou (if you listened to it) id recommend starting there instead! season 1 & 2 go together, season 3 is seperate, unsure about s4 but i think it's also separate?)

Okay so funnily enough I actually liked the characters of riptide before I even knew what just rolled with it was. I was just scrolling on Pinterest one day for fish guy oc ideas, saw fanart of Gillion (before I knew who he was) and went “oh I like their vibe” and proceeded to use him as inspiration for my oc
flash forward and I have used that ONE piece of fanart so many times as inspo while drawing my fishy little guy that I decided to look into what character it was and found out he was from a dnd podcast called just roll with it and I went “oh that sounds cool it’s been a while since I’ve listened to a dnd podcast” (last one I got into was called tales from the stinky dragon but it’s been ages since I’ve listened to that) so I kinda made a mental note to check it out but didn’t get around to it until later
another time skip and I’m watching a TON of slimecicle videos, because for some reason my brain decided to latch on him (I blame the autism) so while I’m watching Charlie mentions he has a dnd podcast and I go “oh that sounds fun!!” Not at ALL connecting the dots until I Google it and go “OH IT’S THAT ONE DND PODCAST 🫵”
from there I started riptide got 20 episodes in and realized there was a prequel oneshot I probably should have listened to, went back, watched that, sat for a month straight all day every day listening to riptide (I’m not even exaggerating on that my sibling can vouch) finished that, and now I’ve started wonderlust :]]
