Okay
Iβve come to terms that itβs okay to have feelings. Itβs okay to cry. Itβs okay to feel what I feel. My entire life Iβve always had to keep everything inside me. Iβve had to pretend nothing was wrong. I had to smile when I wanted to fall to the floor and just lie there. I had to because I had my younger brother depending on me. If I began to fall apart, he would too. So I had to always pretend that everything was okay, even though I had no idea if it was going to be or not. I felt guilty being sad. I felt like I would have been judged if I cried. I felt like I would be perceived as incapable of taking care of my brother. So I never did. And to this day, I still donβt. Because Iβm suppose to be the reliable one, the go to person, the strong one. And thatβs the problem. I always felt like I was suppose to be a certain way. I was always made to feel like I was going to be weak if I showed my emotions. And to this day, I still feel like everyoneβs watching me. And if I tell anyone what I really feel, theyβll just be annoyed that I canβt deal with it on my own. So I always felt alone because I always made myself feel alone. But Iβve realized that Iβm not alone. Someone does care. I can reach out to someone. I can feel comfortable having these feelings. I can because the only way to feel better is if I finally let them go. And thatβs always been me. A bottle. But Iβve come to terms that these are my feelings and I have to accept that. And you know what. Itβs okay. Iβm going to be okay.
