For some context, I’m 18 years old. My name is Mekayla, and I don’t have a roommate. My little sister who’s only 14 lives with me because my parents are homeless (they technically live with my aunt) and they have no room for her, which is half the reason why I moved out in the first place. The other half of the reason is that my mom has always been pretty abusive, and that plus the fact that she’s homophobic and I’m a lesbian wasn’t a very good mixture for my safety. I work seasonally as a lifeguard and I go to school full time, so I’ve been out of a job for a while, but I’ll start back up at the end of February.

My rent is due in six days or I’ll be evicted, and the full price is $750. I can’t afford to be evicted. I literally have no where else to go. My aunt doesn’t have the room for me, and my only other family member who has a home already has my other sister living on her couch (she’s only 10). I have no real options here. All of my money has gone to food and bills and I have nothing at this point. Literally four dollars.
