DAY 24
It's late at night but let me just drop this line real quick before I'm off to bed in the city that never sleeps: So we went to the Bad Religion show at Terminal 5 today and our buddies in The Bronx opened up for them. I haven't seen a better show in years. Hands down. The Bronx freakin' KILLED it! Such an extra-ordinary level of energy, such a sympathetic way of not giving a flying F! Great guys and definitely the album of the year up to this point. Bad Religion were amazing as always and I loved the setlist (although "Suffer" was missing)... What's more: Das greatest tour manager Brett played "Dead Man Walking" on a radio show of the Agnostic Front guys and we had a nice meeting out in Jersey at the OK! Good Records office followed by probably the best vegetarian food in quite a while. All in all a great day out here on the East Coast! We got one more day of awesomeness ahead of us before we head back home... I'll give you the lowdown tomorrow, folks! Dream a good one tonight.

DAY 23 / TAG 23
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand it's a wrap, New York! Last night we have played the final show of the Donots US Tour at Webster Hall in New York. Such a blast! A lot of good-looking, well behaved people out there and a great venue for sure! Almost destroyed the drum kit onstage but we wouldn't want it any other way. Thanks to the other bands and everybody who came out in dancing shoes and wedding dress (that means you too, gentlemen!)! A very special 'THANK YOU!' goes out to the folks in OK! Good Records for all the support and helping us get the Donots Circus over to the US! You guys rule. Also thanks to the folks at GLMR KLLS who had us over at their office in Manhattan for an unplugged performance in the afternoon. Be sure to check that out once it's online... Our travel party slowly dissolves and Humberto, our booking agent, should be on a plane to Germany right now. Well, we'll be on our way back home on thursday night and until then we will continue being Das German Tourist featuring Brett, Das Great American Roadmanager-Stein! Tonight we'll visit our buddies in The Bronx and Bad Religion over at Terminal 5. Can't wait!

DAY 22 / TAG 22
Whoops, is it already the 2nd but last show of the US tour today? Time flies, it's true. Looking back and finding out it's almost been a month since we have left for the States is sort of unreal. I suppose it'll take us at least a week after all this to fully take in what we have seen and experienced. But no time to get sentimental just yet as we are playing a show at our buddy Arty's new venue "St. Vitus Bar" today. We have known Arty for almost 15 years now and you guys might know him from bands such as Mind Over Matter, Errortype:11, Instruction, Gay For Johnny Depp or Primitive Weapons. Great guy, long hair! The "St. Vitus Bar" is an awesome venue with a bar and a concert room, all of which colored in black and black. And black. I dig their cub shirt which reads "Satan is great, whiskey is super". Before we head out to the club we embark on our own tourist tour of the Brooklyn Bridge and the skyline of NYC. Such a fantastic view out there. Probably the biggest Starbucks I've ever seen, haha! On arrival at "St. Vitus" we meet the other bands (Damn) This Desert Air and I Hate Our Freedom, set up on stage and afterwards go out for dinner with our friends Tyler and Rob of Midtown (yeah, that band we took out on tour in 2001!). I'm doing a 30 minute live phone interview for a broadcast called "Dead Dave's Radio Show" which is good fun. (Damn) This Desert Air and I Hate Our Freedom both totally rule (totally remind me of the good old NYC 90s stuff like Quicksand). Our show is a 40 minute beercoaster ride and even our buddy Garrett from Texas Is The Reason and the Outer Nationals guys drop by to say hello. Good times! THANKS TO ST. VITUS AND EVERYBODY SHOWING UP! We're on our way home... Gotta get some sleep for the final show tomorrow. Hell yeah!

DAY 21 / TAG 21
Hello, Sweethearts! So I hear there's kind of a rivalry going on between Long Island and New Jersey, right? You guys don't like each other that much, they tell me. Well, let me be the diplomat here and sort this out the tourist way: Both of which are well worth the travel and we like you guys no matter where you're from, not only because you dish out beers to us every night and sing and dance and make us feel at home. Thanks for that! So after the show with CJ in West Babylon last night we are heading out to Asbury Park today. The drive takes us across a couple of bridges with a great view of NYC and through landscapes with abandoned boats in backyards and washed up debris here and there (Hurricane Sandy was here for sure). The nice people at "The Saint", our venue for today, tell us about the hurricane and everything that had happened and it's damn scary and sad. Really hope things get back to normal around here. Hang in there, folks! Nevertheless everybody seems to try and focus on the good things in life which are of course music related every now and then. No time to waste. We get our gear in after a cool yet very cold photo shooting at the beach and grab some food afterwards. Up to this point we haven't really been familiar with the BYO system for beer so next time we're over in the States I'll make sure to have a six-pack with me all the time, just in case I am allowed to bring my own beer. Technically that makes the US the biggest living-room ever, haha! Anyway, the show tonight is a big deal of fun and the club is absolutely amazing! All bands are super cool and nice and we're playing an encore before we leave. Need to come back to lovely Asbury Park for sure! On our way back we stop to check out the skyline of New York... The bright lights of America... Wow! See you tomorrow at the St. Vitus Bar... Sleep well, city that never sleeps! P.S.: Really funny and strange when you meet the old sound guy of the Bloodhound Gang in a club like "The Saint" again after 12 years... This time around he was wearing clothes for a change... :-)
