so much was happening and i was trying so hard to listen in the moment that i forgot that brennan pointed out that ethrand looked guilty when the murder of occtis was beought up.....i don't remember if brennan called for an insight check in this moment....but since we've only ever known ethrand and the tachonises as a whole to Not really dig remorse for their actions or......Humanity. at all. i feel like we have to assume it really was a genuine modicum of guilt. which is Fascinating to me.

What if you died trying to make your people free, thinking you had failed and not knowing if they'd ever have a future... and then you were called back many decades later and saw your people happy and healthy and well-clothed and FREE. And you could take up your blade one more time to celebrate with them.

Would it be problematic to connect how Yanessa says she loves Wicander after he seemingly fails on his own and returns to her, and how Hannan describes how Sylandri hated the idea of her children having lives outside of her periphery? Love on the condition that you always remain dependent on them?? Is this anything???

honestly the talk vaelus had with hannan not only made her motivation for continuing to be with the group click a lot more for me than before. but it recontextualized her bond with thaisha as well. thaisha who has such steady and strong convictions of her beliefs, and recently gone against her circle's rule (by not letting occtis go through the path) because she listened to her instincts. who now delayed a hearing with her circle (the letter) and chose what she believes is best and more important for the greater good. we have vaelus who has already pre campaign having doubts about her own faith and struggling in stasis, meets this woman who while staying true to her core beliefs forges her own path forward. only a conversation with hannan could've brought that out of her but i'm so curious now to see where that goes.

The more lore about the elves we get the deeper and more delicious vaesha gets to me, like I'm such a sucker narrative foils and parallels and those two are feeding me so well. Like the fact it started out so strong with the soul bonding in ep 3 and its just gotten more and more interesting with every interaction and loredrop??? Obsessed, 10/10 no notes

You know the last few episodes of Critical Role have been good when it's monday and you are already vibrating in your seat about "Is it thursday yet". This next episode is going to be such a culmination of so much buildup and I genuinely haven't felt this excited about any new piece of media in ages. 14 people and 7 months of actual play and it does feel like they are going to land something incredible

And tbh the circular Thjazi distinctions are even more irritating because even those who understand the depth of connection between Thjazi and Thimble seem to be dismissing how much Thimble truly knew Thjazi. Despite the secrets he was keeping from her, Thimble has been his long standing collaborator, executed a great deal of his plans, and possibly knew the rebel that he was best of all. She isn't naive in her view of him, and possibly was given the clearest explanation as to why he kept as many secrets as he did. Her familiarity and therefore her ability to speak to his intentions are rather unfairly dismissed in order to continue to float a possibility that has been well and truly dead on arrival.
