you know what’s really fucking sad? men who were abused by women feeling like they need to downplay or romanticize the abuse they went through because they feel it’s not “legitimate”

abuser: do you ever think about how bad it felt for ME to abuse you? Do you ever think about that???

only abusive parents try to convince you everyone else has it worse

most of my childhood can be summed down to “I was terrified and nobody would even believe me”

remember that feeling you had as a kid when bad things were happening and nobody seemed to care and you just kept thinking “Someone should be outraged about this!!! Someone should know and be completely horrified and stunned and then take me away from all this!” but it never seemed to happen and you waited and waited until you lost the faith that you were worth saving
