“Well then I guess it’s a good thing you don’t have to move that mouth of yours in order to fix the spot in the wall.”

Dom rolled his eyes, “That all?”

“Does that mean you had trouble on your last task?”

“No, it means I’m not a super talking person?”

“Oh - I’m sorry! I just - I’m new and I wanted to meet everyone and say hello to everyone, too. I’m Snow, and this is my dog, Toad. He’s very friendly as long as you don’t try and hurt me or anything because then he might bite you. What’s your name?”

Dom wasn’t surprised. Saying he didn’t want to talk almost never worked around here. “I’m Dominic.” He told her.

‘’I see. Then I guess we can talk about this fellow Runner on your side going missing… some other day?”

“I don’t know anything about it.” Dom told her with a sigh.

“Why’s that? I just…asked how the supply runs are going these days. Did you guys find any ammo?”

He sighed, “I mean-- not as much as I’d’ve liked.” He told her with a shrug.

“You know… You could be so much fun,” she muttered before looking up at him. “It’s too bad really,” she breathed, touching his chest lightly with her hand. “So, drink?”

Sam didn’t really like being told what he was or wasn’t by someone who barely knew him, but he didn’t see the point in talking about it, he didn’t want to talk about it. “I’ll go to the bar.”

“And I wasn’t planning too,” she admitted with a laugh before pointing her hand out to him and pretending to shot him with a finger gun. “Mister Hunter man.” 

“Fantastic, thanks.” Sam told her, raising his brows.

“You know what’s weird, i thought you were like a total cutie but it feels like i’m pushing for us to even hang out together,” she muttered before pulling herself up. “i need to drink. You wanna buy?”

Sam raised his brows, “After last time, I wasn’t expecting you to ask me to drink again.” He told her. “Sure, I’ll buy.”

“I… wouldn’t have a clue, man. Humans are… virtually nonexistent in this town though.”

“Yeah, they didn’t call us here for nothing. Just find me a deadly thing and we’ll shoot it. But meanwhile, you should have some fun. I’m not gonna waste all my time on hunting while I’m in New Orleans.”

“So, how is it in New Orleans? I’ve heard about some good strip clubs.”

“I... wouldn’t have a clue, man. Humans are... virtually nonexistent in this town though.”

“You are right, i did ask for the truth and you kind of made it really clear that you don’t even want to be friends,” she said with let out a shrug. “So i think i’ll give the dance floor a go.” 

“I think what I said was I don’t give too much thought to whether I liked someone, not that I didn’t. That’s the truth. That I try not to overthink things because when I do... everything goes wrong.”

“I think that’s really sad,” she told him. “You can keep the pizza,” she said, looking down at it. She was no longer hungry anymore. She stood up.  

Sam shrugged, “You asked me to be honest, I was. If you don’t like what that means, go ahead. I think I’ll go back to the motel.”

She took another gulp and looked up at him. “I was just telling you not to give up because everyone deserves to be happy,” she said before turning to pick up a piece of pizza. She placed her bottle down. “I think i’m going to go dance.”

“I disagree.” he shrugged. After everything Sam had done, he certainly didn’t deserve happiness. “Go ahead.”
