My approach to my website's design is to take the key characteristics of mugs and rework them. The simplicity of mugs shows through the website with its basic layout and large scale of type. The constrained color palette of black, white, and gold are used uniformly and effectively throughout the website to really show off the personality of the brand. 

The redesign of 826Valencia modernizes the whole approach of what this organization has to offer. The visual aesthetic feel this site now has to offer makes it enjoyable for the viewer to navigate the site and the pages that follow. Fun graphics and whimsical type give the new site a modern yet childish feel that also provides information in a way that is useful for all users to explore and learn from. 

The idea of print design is for being effective in many different instances. Web design is solely for the web- its design is strictly for the users that are online. Print design is a process in which everything is based on what the final product will result to. In web design, the online world is an ever-changing community in which no design is ever permanent.

In response to 'Rethinking the Case Study', written by Christopher Butler, I completely agree with his take on the importance of case studies. They are significant because they show that the designer has taken the time to incorporate the ideologies of the company he chooses to work on as well as his own vision of what the company should look like to the public. 

I stumbled across the Women in Business Manifesto when searching for an interesting topic for my project. I fell in love with this manifesto, because after reading it I was very empowered. The inspiration and motivation that is present throughout it makes it something worthwhile to read. 

When coding my Chris Milk biography page, I came across a few issues in regards to crossing from different browsers. The alignment of my text would never stay the same unless I had the position set to absolute. The background image was hard to maintain because the link was broken and very hard to fix on Google Chrome.

Net neutrality is the idea that all internet service providers and governments treat all content on the internet equally. Advocates of this principle have raised concerns about the ability of broadband providers to use their infrastructure to block Internet applications and content and even to block out competitors. Opponents of net neutrality claim that broadband service providers have no plans to block content or degrade network performance.

Make the background more dynamic and visually interesting.

Chris Milk is an American music video director and photographer that uses the newest technologies to push the boundaries of connecting and challenging the viewer and world to see beyond the traditional way of interpretation. Milk is recognized as working on the music videos for various music artists and bands, including hip hop artist Kanye West. Most recently, Chris Milk focuses on using breakthrough technologies and the newest media innovations to connect to viewers on a new level. His latest works involve creating stories about the human world in the sense to expose the beauty in all things physical, digital, and untouchable which connects all humans together. Allowing the extremely personal experience to happen between the viewer and Milk’s work with powerful music and intensely personal graphics is what makes Milk stand apart from the rest.

Aesthetically, the website isn't too bad to look at, but the function and conventions of it drive me crazy, and I am sure other Facebook users who are intrigued by the interesting titles of the photo galleries can agree with me. It's too much of a waste of time to just be able to click through a gallery of pictures.
