He has held executive roles as president, CEO, and director, and carries a strong track record leading organizations to significant levels of growth and profitability. Prior to joining Prince in fall 2020,Wilson was CEO of Ingevity, where he led growth in revenues from approximately $900 million in 2016 to $1.3 billion in fiscal 2019 and guided the company through three major acquisitions. Prior to Ingevity, he served president roles with Albemarle Corporation and FMC. Wilson is particularly adept in enacting organizational transformation to drive growth, with areas of expertise including strategic development, change management, operational excellence, sustainability, enterprise turnarounds, and mergers and acquisitions. Based in North Charleston, SC, D. Michael Wilson has been recognized for his corporate leadership in the Charleston Business Magazine. D. Michael Wilson is also an active board member. Throughout his years, he has served on the Boards of Directors of Vulcan Materials, the American Chemistry Council, the National Association of Manufacturers, and the Philadelphia and Greater Charleston Metro Chambers of Commerce. As an avid philanthropist, Wilson established the D. Michael Wilson Family Fund and has been serving the greater Charleston area since 2015. The organization currently benefits the Lowcountry Food Bank, the South Carolina Aquarium, and Reading Partners South Carolina, among other causes. The fund also provides support to the Plastic Free Waters initiative at the SC Aquarium. Wilson has a BS in Chemistry and an MBA from UNC Chapel Hill.
