Make-up Remover

I remove my point makeup with The FaceShops “Chia Seed Fresh Lip & Eye Make-up Remover”.

Cleanser

For the cleanser, I have been using COSRX “Low pH Good Morning Gel Cleanser” and double cleansing to make sure my foundation is off or single cleansing if I did not use any foundation that day.

Toner

The toner I have been using is COSRX “AHA/BHA Clarifying Treatment Toner”.

Mask/Exfoliant

I tend to use either a peel-off mask to help with exfoliation when my skin really needs that extra exfoliation. Or I will use a hydrating mask, which recently has been Lush’s “Mask of Magnaminty” (Review to be up soon!)

For exfoliation, I have been using a mixture of baking soda and water as a natural exfoliant.

Serum

This has been The Ordinary “Salicylic Acid 2% Solution”.

Eye Cream

This is The Body Shop’s “Drops of Youth” serum, which I use as an eye cream instead of a full serum and it has been really helpful in keeping my eyes looking bright.

Cream

Pond’s Dry Skin Cream, very simple with my creams and this one, in particular, has helped me tremendously in the winter time.

Then I just finish everything off with some lip moisturizer, usually the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask and off to bed I go. Now I choose to use a mask after my toning just because I feel as though that is when my pores are most open and are able to really gain from the mask (currently using Lush mask while writing this). That is all for this week, a little different then what you may be used to with my writing but it is back to actual reviews next week, just thought that this would be an interesting post.

Bite Beauty: First Impression Agave Sugar Lip Scrub and Lip Balm

I got a sample a while back for the Bite Beauty’s Agave Sugar Lip Scrub and their Agave Lip Balm. So this week we are going to review these products!

First up is the agave sugar lip scrub, now this sample was only enough to try it fully twice so we are going off of that and making this post a “first impressions” post. Now this product smells amazing and sweet, it is really nice on the lips, and…

The first product is COSRX BHA Blackhead Power Liquid, it is designed to reduce the formation of blackheads and excess sebum is removed as well as hydrating the skin. Now I love my COSRX products, they all just seem to work so well for my skin and they have minimal downsides to them. This product is no exception. It was a pump liquid product which I used in place of a serum to help control the blackheads on my face. My skin had some help with that, as I did notice fewer blackheads, but for the hydrating of my skin. I found that my skin was actually drier in certain parts, specifically around my nose and forehead areas. I just used some extra moisturizer and ensured that those spots were nice and covered to combat this situation but it was a little annoying having a product claim to be hydrating, not actually hydrate all of your skin. So for that, I will have to give this product a 3.75/5.

The second product is The Body Shop Seaweed oil-control gel cream, which is a lightweight moisturizer that mattifies and controls excess sebum and shine for a balanced complexion throughout the day. It has a nice smell to the product, a cool gel texture and a little of this moisturizer goes a long way. I was a little nervous paying for this as the container is so small, but it actually lasted around 4 months. I did notice a reduction in the amount of shine my skin had even at the end of the day, without me blotting my face. So it does control the shine which I loved. This was a nice summer/fall product for me, but not so durable in the winter time, you will need a more heavy-duty cream. For all of these points, this product gets a 4.5/5 as long as it is used in the summer/fall/spring time and not the winter. In the winter it would be a 3.5/5.

The last product is actually two of the same but slightly different thing. It is the Covergirl foundation in both outlast stay fabulous and clean matte, with my skin tone they both are in Ivory. The outlast stay is actually a 3 in 1 with the power of a primer, coverage of concealer and blendability of foundation all in one as well as being shine free. The clean matte is designed for oily skin to give it a fresh, clean, shine-free face. It is said to be suitable for sensitive skin, oil free, unscented, and won’t clog your pores. This foundation has been my go-to foundation for years (I am still using the 3 in 1 most days), it has a nice buildable coverage, there is no real smell to the product, and it is really blendable for a nice full covereage. There are some downsides though, I find that if you are oily, then this product will breakdown a little bit after around 10-12 hours, for me it was in my T-zone area especially around my chin. It is also not transfer resistant, I mean they do not claim to be but I feel like this is good to know about a product. For those downsides, I will still give this product a 4/5.

This week we are going to be testing out a new liquid lipstick from the brand Wet N Wild, now I have tried one of their lipsticks before but it was not the best so I have limited expectations for this matte lipstick and its staying power, but it says it is a “mega last” so we shall see.

  First of all this packaging is nice and sleek in my opinion, the brush is a nicely angled one, there is not really a smell to the product and it is cruelty-free as well as vegan which I love for my products. They also had a wide range of colours available so you could pick and choose which one best fit you from nudes to reds, pinks to purples.

Now, before the rating, this is a good beginner product for someone just getting into makeup as it does not really smear that much and it does apply nicely, however, it will start to crease a bit after a while on the lips so either reapply it or have some lip balm ready to apply to help with the creasing.

Can dry into the creases of the lips after a little while so make sure you have some lip balm or something to help with that

Repurchase?

No, I don’t think so, it is a great lipstick for the price but I find that there are so many better formulas that will prevent it feeling heavy on my lips after a while and the creasing.

This week we are looking at a new brand I have not reviewed yet (mostly because I had not been into any of their stores to be completely honest…) LUSH!!! I am very excited to be bringing you this review of their famous Cup O’Coffee face and body mask. Once again, just a reminder I have combination skin but it is very dry in the winter hence needing exfoliating masks which is this one right here. To use this product you are supposed to put it on your face, leave it on for 15 minutes, and then wash it off while massaging it into your skin to help remove all of the dead skin cells.

One of the reasons I was so happy about Lush was that they do not test on animals, only buy their supplies from people who do not test on animals, they use natural ingredients so there is not chemicals all over your face, and finally they have a recycling program where you can bring back 4 cleaned out tubs and get a free natural face mask! How cool!

Now I just have a little sample of this product, but the sample has so far lasted 3 face masks worth and that is the basis of what I will be using to review this product.

As you can see from the pictures, there is actual ground up coffee beans in the product! As well as the main ingredients being: agave syrup, kaolin (a type of clay), glycerine (helps keep moisture in your skin), coffee infusion, talc (clay mineral), ground coffee…

Now onto the rating!

Rating: 9/10

Pros:

Makes you smell like freshly ground coffee!!

Exfoliates very nicely to ensure dead skin is off!

smells delicious – like sweet coffee (did I already mention this?)

Very easy to wash off

Not drying

Skin feels very soft after use

Cons:

Little too harsh, but was warned about it at the store.

If you leave it on your skin for too long it becomes a bit stained I noticed (accidentally left it on for 25 minutes one time)

Repurchase? I will probably be purchasing a full version of this mask, I love the way that it exfoliates the skin and the way it smells, it is a bit harsh but I just add more water to help soften it up a bit and that seems to help out with the harshness.

Hello! We are back at it with another challenge and I feel as though these can be a once a month things.

The next challenge is going to be the 30 day squat challenge, which is where you do 100 squats everyday for 30 days. I will be measuring myself before and after to see what this did to my muscles, I want to have them slim down but maybe they will get bigger? Who knows until after this is done.
