would taka's dad be okay with their relationship?

sometimes when i'm cold and alone i like to imagine the scenario that takaaki can't get over mondo's gang affiliation, even after he gives it up. i think of family holidays where he's trying to accept them for taka's sake, but ultimately failing due to his inability to accept that mondo has changed, or never even was a bad guy. i mean think about it, takaaki's own father screwed over their entire bloodline, his dad ruined his and his son's lives. how difficult would it be to trust anybody again, especially you son's teenage dream love interest who was the leader of japan's most powerful biker gang! i don't think he could ever realistically get over his own trust issues.

on the other hand, i sometimes think that maybe mondo is the manifestation of breaking the cycle for the family. it's like moving on from past behaviors or actions and accepting the present and possible future, independent from the past.
