However, one thing I will always respect is that they’re the only majorly Right Wing organization that has always remained consistent. They believe the second amendment is important and they think people should have guns, that’s it.

Every other right wing belief system like anti-abortion, anti-big government, pro-free market, even the anti-trans people, ALL of them shift belief systems and wish-wash depending on what benefits the Republican Party at that specific moment. And EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM should be fighting back against ICE because ICE is an organization that deliberately flies in the face of their claimed beliefs (yes, even the anti-trans groups. 90% of them claim Trans people are sex offenders or that they’re a danger to children, which are both things ICE has been proven to be).

The NRA has absolutely never shifted on their stance. People have the right to carry licensed guns on their person, period, end of story.

It doesn’t matter if it’s black people, trans people, illegal immigrants, criminals, cops, mentally ill, the NRA is going to defend their right to carry a licensed firearm.

And yeah, that sucks, it’s harmed the country a lot, but GOD DAMMIT at least ONE of these groups is consistent.

Like holy shit the bar is SO LOW, I realize that, but if ANY right wing belief system actually stuck to their guns like this, I could at least sit proudly with the conviction that these are human beings I’m disagreeing with and not just a blob of comically evil idiots.

And yes, this is about the NRA defending the man who was recently shot by ICE for carrying a licensed firearm.
