What about middle ground where Will experiences strong jealousy/possessiveness but is so very aware of his own flaws that he actively overcompensates by lying and acting like he’s the opposite, but he’s still feeling it, just repressing the feelings. Which as we all know works 100% of the time and never backfires

im so conflicted on either: Mike being absolutely terrible at cooking and should not be trusted in a kitchen... or being able to cook surprisingly well and is constantly making food for Will. i genuinely can't decide.

maybe he is terrible at cooking until he and Will move in together for college.. once they get tired of ordering takeout almost every damn day, Mike decides to take matters into his own hands, and hr learns to cook. it's a rough start at first, and eventually, he gets used to it, and cooking becomes something he enjoys doing.

Will will come home, maybe from a later class or hanging out with friends. he opens the door to the smell of something fresh that he can't quite name until he sees a giant plate of something he's never seen before. Mike greets him at the door, kisses his cheek, and rambles on about the food he made, talking about how he heard about the recipe from god knows where and how excited he was to have cooked it correctly. Will loves that Mike has found a new interest and supports him through the way... even if the food tastes absolutely terrible. Mike doesn't have to know that.
