"Hello, my pet."

Dominique growled slightly. “I’m not a pet. And I’m certainly not yours.”
“I take it you’ve not noticed your new necklace then, my sweet?”
Around Dominique’s throat was a thick leather collar, with no obvious method of removal.
Dominique looked. “What the fuck?!” She hadn’t noticed it at all until she mentioned something. Probably got it on her when she was knocked out at some point.
“It suits you. Really brings out the bloodlust in your eyes.” The woman grinned cruelly.
She glared. “I swear to fucking god …” she growled. Yeah, there was bloodlust alright. She wanted to fucking murder Zarha at this point. And she just woke up.
“Oh, calm down, my sweet. There’s a reason I’ve brought you here this time.”
“I don’t give a shit.” she said. “I want this damn collar off of me.”
“That’s nice. I don’t care. Listen carefully, Dominique.” Zahra cleared her throat. “Someone’s trying to kill me.”
She looked at her.
“And fair enough, but at the same time, I can’t have that.”
“So what do you want me for?” she asked her. “And what does this collar have to do with anything?”
“You’re going to protect me. Find out who wants me dead and stop them. By whatever means necessary.”
She grinned, showing off her too-white teeth. “And the collar’s just because I like it.”
“And what if I don’t protect you? I have every reason not to.” she said.
“Simple. I’ll take your Sam and I’ll hurt her.”
She instantly frowned. “Fine. But I’d like this collar off if I’m going to run around trying to find killers if you wouldn’t mind.” It’s be great if she actually did take it off … she didn’t know if she would, but she’d love that right now.
“It’s a collar or a brand. Your choice. I find the collars to be a much less permanent solution.”
She growled and rolled her eyes a bit. “Fucking … fine. Whatever.” she said. Yeah sure. I can totally be taken seriously parading around for murderers in this.
“Oh, I nearly forgot to mention…” Zahra pulled out a small remote and pressed the only button on it, delivering a powerful electric shock straight through Dom’s collar.
“AH!” Dominique cried out, stumbling back a bit. “What the fucking hell?!” she yelled at her, when the shock ended.
“Just making sure we’re clear on who’s in charge here.”
“Fucking bitch …” she muttered, standing herself.
“…excuse me?” Zahra raised an eyebrow. “I don’t believe I heard you correctly.”
“I believe you did.”
Zahra tilted her head before pulling out her phone and dialling a number.
“Hello?” Sam’s groggy voice sounded at the other end.
The ruthless woman hung up and tucked her phone away. “Sound familiar?”
She instantly fell quiet quiet hearing Sam’s voice. Just … just keep your mouth shut, stop the person trying to kill her, then you’re good and Sam is safe. She thought to herself.
“Now go, before I pay a visit to your little wife.”
She quickly left, getting into her car. She looked, seeing a scarf and quickly put that on to cover up the collar. She drove back to their house to check up on Sam first. She opened the door. “Sam?” she called.
"Mm..." She lifted her head from where she'd fallen asleep on the couch the night before. "Dom? W-was that you tryin' to call me before? Oh my god, you're alive." Sam leapt up and tackled her wife.
