Dear Minho,

I’m sorry for not writing yesterday even though you probably don’t even care that I didn’t write. Yesterday wasn’t eventful so it wasn’t like I had a lot to write about anyway. Today, however, I do have a lot to write. I don’t know why I hadn’t applied to this school sooner, I know before I was doubting it a lot but if it wasn’t for you and everyone else pestering me about it I would never be in the position that I’m in today. So, thank you for that. Anyway, the flight was almost 13 hours which is the longest I have ever been on a plane in my entire life and all I have to say is that I do not recommend. Nah, just kidding, the flight may have been long but it is really worth it in the end! It’s so lovely here and all I have to say is that it was a bit cooler than I thought it was going to be. Yeah, it was like 2 am when I arrived here and yeah, the temperature is also cooler when the sun isn’t out, but even during the day it wasn’t as hot as I’ve imagined. Hmm, I should really ask Felix and Chan about that someday.

Well, if there’s one thing I look forward to it’s that during the semester breaks I’ll come home for a few weeks and be able to see all of you again! It would be summer over there and you already know that we’re going to go out and do something fun every day! We could go swimming, do some singing in a karaoke room, take a walk around the city, just everything that we used to do when the weather is warmer out, it would be great to do it all again. To see all of you so happy would be nice, I really enjoy seeing all of you smiling. If we do get around to doing all of that again, I hope I can see you shining the biggest smile yet Minho.

Dear Minho,

Today is the day, ahh I’m nervous and excited and I feel like jumping around and screeching but I can’t since it’s like 2:37 in the morning. I’m actually supposed to leave for the airport in about 7 hours since boarding is at 12:15 but, you know, I couldn’t sleep, so instead, I decided to write to you. There’s a lot I want to say but I just don’t know how to put it words because my mind is such a mess of feelings right now. Maybe I’ll be able to tell you about it tomorrow, today just isn’t good for my brain to try and work with words.

Hey Minho! You know what I just thought of? Why don’t you and the others have a movie night! All of you would have fun and you could watch anything you like. You also should eat some good snacks during it, you can’t watch a movie without a good snack! Oh, it would be really fun! All of you would go out first to buy some snacks, Jisung would probably make Hyunjin push him on the cart, by the time you get to the video-game section Felix would be distracted by all of it, and everyone would just leave Felix there until they get to checkout and Chan notices so he goes back to get him. It would be just like the normal fun and chaotic shopping trips. Anyway, if you do actually do that movie night, make sure not to choose the Percy Jackson movie again!

Dear Minho,

I did what I said I was going to do yesterday which was pack my clothes, so, nothing eventful happened today. Oh, but I did watch this show whiles packing! I just put it on for background noise but it actually seems really interesting. It’s called “Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency”. I would tell you about it but you’re just going to have to watch yourself in order to understand it, it is very all over the place. Anyway, I’m going out to eat with my family one last time before I leave. Nothing special, just a sort of goodbye dinner and celebratory dinner in one. Hey, you know what’s a good idea to do tonight? You and the guys should go out to have a meal! It would be nice since it would be like all of having a meal together just like the big family we are even though we’re in two different places. What do you say Minho, would you be up for it?

Yeah, it isn’t as good as the real deal but at least all of you get to enjoy a meal together in one place just like old times but instead, I won’t be there. You most likely won’t enjoy that idea, I understand, but it’s nice to go out with your friends especially when you’re going out for food. I hope that you do actually go out and eat something really tasty, it’s nice to think that you do the things I suggest even when I know you won’t. Please eat something yummy for me!

Dear Minho,

Today wasn’t the greatest. Dad left me to pack my stuff all by myself and I was NOT living for it. I guess it’s okay though, I still had a list of stuff that I need to pack so that helped somewhat. I only got my blankets and stuff packed so not too much, just do a bit today, do a bit tomorrow, and I’ll be ready to leave the day after tomorrow. So, Minho, I feel like I should apologize to you for yesterday. It was a bit pushy for me to make you promise something to me when you don’t even write back. Why don’t you ever write back anyways? I share all of this stuff to you but you don’t even bother to share anything with me and, I don’t know, it’s just frustrating okay?

I know, I should calm down a bit, I’m being pushy, again, and I shouldn’t. I know I can’t make you do anything you don’t want and the others can’t exactly do that either. You just do whatever you want most of the time, I understand that, and yet I’m making you fulfill a promise you most likely never will. Just so you know, I’ll keep writing to you, but don’t feel like you have to do anything I tell you. It would be nice if you did, but knowing you, you won’t do it because it’s something different for you, and you don’t like doing anything different.

Dear Minho,

Ahh! 4 more days and I’ll be leaving. I already started getting a list of stuff I need to start packing later tonight. I was singing the entire time making it. Hey, remember how whenever we would do something that we didn’t like doing we would burst out singing to make it more enjoyable? Yeah, that’s how I’m feeling about now. I don’t really like making lists and having to organize things but I know singing helps to make me feel better about doing it. If there’s something bothering you you should sing a bit! It’s proven that music, whether you’re just listening to it or actually making music, helps make you feel more relaxed and happy, you should feel like that!

Minho, I want you to promise me something. Whenever you’re feeling sad about anything you should open up to the others about it more. It could be through anything like physically talking to them, dancing, letting them listen to a song that expresses your feelings, or writing. I know you’re the type of person who doesn’t exactly share things and you don’t accept things so easily either, it would probably ease your pain if you opened up a bit to them so that way they understand more of what’s going on inside that thick skull of yours. Well, with that being said I hope you’re doing okay and that you’re happy. If not, that’s okay too, not everything can be rainbows and puppies but I hope that whatever it is that’s bothering you will be over soon.

Dear Minho,

It’s your dance festival today! If it already happened, how did it go? Do you think it went well? And if you didn’t do the dance already, how do you think it’ll go? Are you nervous? If you’re nervous I’ll send you a nice hug and head rubs through this letter. I know that whenever you’re nervous a way to get you to relax is to do that! Just imagine me giving you a warm hug and rubbing the back of your head a bit, maybe even playing with your hair, and that should relax you. I really hope you’re not stressing or worrying too much over anything, too much stress isn’t good for your health, be sure to actually take to time to relax!

Hey, remember how yesterday I said we should get ice cream sometime? You should go get some as a treat for doing so well after the dance festival is over. It will help cool you off after your dance and it would be nice to eat something sweet after something like that. You probably haven’t had sweets in a while so you could prepare for it and stay healthy. Well, all I have to say this time is go get that ice cream! You deserve it after all that hard work, and don’t worry, I promise that the next time we can go get it together, go to the museum, walk around, and go shopping. We’ll do it all one day, I promise.
