Paralia is rather peaceful. Rarely do you hear of crime or maybe it's because everyone is so close and often knows their neighbors name that there's no reason to commit a crime. Once someone found out a dirty secret it spread like wildfire. Perhaps that why anyone abstained from breaking into someones house - or worse yet - killing them. You couldn't hide a single thing from any who lived literally in the entire radius of you.
Diego knew this rather well although he and his mother kept quietly to themselves. He was often referred to as the 'horseback riding lessons instructor'. You could catch him giving free lessons to the young children that lived around him earning him a friendly reputation (although at first impression he was kind of an asshole). Aside from that, Diego received visitors daily often asking him about lessons or what not. That was one day a knock came at the door. His mother answered this time and she called out to him in a worried tone, "Dio, please come to the door."
He furrowed his brow, who could it be and why did she sound so worried? He gulped. He knew he hadn't done anything... Bad. Hell, anything in general actually. Collecting himself he brought himself to the door and there was the neighborly sheriff of Paralia. What business could he have here? However, he was assured by the man at the door that they weren't in trouble. Both Diego and his mother sighed in relief. The blond spoke up inquisitively, "So what is your business here sheriff if it's not arresting us?" His tone was sarcastic and he sure as hell wish the sheriff caught it.
