Sometimes I don’t know why I keep painting.

It would be easier to paint what people expect.

Easier to follow a trend.

Easier to try and make something that just ‘works.’

But when I do that… it doesn’t feel like mine.

The truth is, painting for myself is uncomfortable.

There’s a lot of uncertainty.

A lot of second-guessing.

Moments where I think,

‘Is this going anywhere?’

And I don’t always have the answer.

But that space — the not knowing —

that’s where something real can happen.

It’s slow.

It’s risky.

Sometimes it feels exposed.

But when it finally comes together…

it feels honest.
