it is certainly a DIFFICULT pathway to traverse, one of which he might not survive from if he’s not careful. a slip of the foot and he’s gone. well, he’s HARDLY the sole person here with a lost memory or two, and even more so, he’s not the only one with another half just sleeping away. his hand rests against the underside of his chin in QUIET thought. 

❝nothing about this island feels SIGNIFICANT – unlike the world i come from, but i suppose there’s a possibility that may be a solution. is the one who rests dormant in you … do they still REACT to the world around us?❞ was it too candid a question? he’s lost his connection with the power he holds - how will i know if it comes back?

short nails dig into his scalp, a glowering stare of dark eyes. he’s FRUSTRATED, naturally, but careful enough to direct it towards the gods or the stars, and not the stranger standing at his side. it wouldn’t do to make enemies when he has such a TENUOUS grasp of his own memory.

He looks pretty distressed. Even without his words, you can see it in the man's eyes, his mannerisms, the tense block of his shoulders.

"I get that. So much has been stolen from me, by my own stupidity or not, I get pretty greedy to keep things close to the chest."

("Ah I suppose that could explain if its just words or...something else entirely.") Hopefully she wasn't causing too much trouble by making him have to type on a phone like that all to figure out if more little sprouts would pop up...

This is one hell of a conversation-- or start of it. He agrees, but also, his mouth curls into something sardonic.

The (Furby) King Returns

gods above, there's oh so much to relearn. with all the cards stacked against him, like a new game to learn. all that he's GATHERED thus far is a schedule as ambiguous as his own, which, while appreciated in a sense ( leave me alone! ) also means that there's still UNKNOWN territory ahead. what could be lurking beneath the veneer of a mysterious figure? a CAT would have been the least of his guesses.

questions dance in the back of his throat as the animal slips past, SWIFTLY making her exit. before he could even address her presence, she's gone, away from his sight. ears twitch - he's not prepared to dump an animal at the nearest shelter, but if he must wear his mask of amicability, he … THUMP. he only considers the fact that he has a new roommate when he's barreled into - smaller in form, but not in determination - quite rudely. his eyes CLASH upon the offender, as swords meeting on the field of battle. 

❝what a REMARKABLE amount of rudeness you possess. the windows are closed and no one is housing in that room - they are not going anywhere. the very least you could do is say something to EXCUSE yourself from my presence.❞ the depths of his chest stir as he growls. and the stranger was doing so well in not IRRITATING him so far. ❝i suppose you shall CONTINUE to make noise until the little one is safe and sound.❞

Ignoring the glower the other sends him, the angel sits by a bedpost and extends a hand toward the cat. She shrinks back a bit from it, wiggling further under the bed. The angel draws back as well, hunching over in an attempt to make himself less imposing. He looks away from the shadow back up at his roommate, who seems to be just standing there, for some reason. “Did you want something?” he asks, making some effort to keep his voice level to keep from spooking Curry any further.

❝i'm no errand boy,❞ he responds curtly. ah, of course he'd be dragged into this as PUNISHMENT for his curiosity. before his oft armour clad roommate could return the phrase with a remark of his own, ganondorf slips back out the door frame. he considers just leaving the pair be to figure out this issue by themselves. but if his roommate is so testy over an escaped kitten, he LOATHES to imagine how testy he would be under more dire circumstances. no, whatever may be, they're stuck here together, and he will simply have to LIVE with it. 

so he grabs the bag without a fuss, doesn't even consider snooping longer than a mere cursory glance - only the BRIEFEST of glances, as if on the lookout for a trap. when he returns, the bag is placed wordlessly, like a STRANGE peace offering between the pair. ❝bribery, hm? there are far worse plans. try to coax her out then, i'll make sure the exits are barred.❞

("Oh I can help you with that!") Thankfully she had actual hands to use compared to some of the other creatures from her world. Otherwise this would've been a much worse situation for the two of them.

Once again she felt more and more truths just spouting out. Maybe the Pokémon shouldn't have continued to say these things to a stranger but she also didn't want to want to start lying either. So the best she could do was just oblige to their requests.

Curry the tortoiseshell has made her daring escape—too late, he realizes that he’s left his bedroom door just barely open. She’d been wandering around the room while he was knitting cross-legged on the ground, listening to the metallic clink clink clink of paws batting at the tassels of his removed cuirass. (The pauldrons were too big. They scared her. He just has on a hoodie right now.)

Gabriel hadn’t really been expecting to take care of an animal when he signed up to foster them. Silly in retrospect, but a coworker at the church he sometimes lends services to had suggested it. Something about companionship and how cute pets were? It wasn’t until he actually picked up the foster cat that he realized this she was a real small-and-warm body he’s been tasked with, and freaked out about it a little. She’s warming up to him, but still easily frightened, and doesn’t like being pet or held. She hasn’t been out of his room yet, either, so the angel clambers up to follow the cat out.

…only to bump into @dimittere. They’ve been roommates for a few weeks now, though both of them keep weird enough schedules that they don’t really see each other. Gabriel didn’t even bother asking him about the foster. This is particularly bad timing; he’s got more pressing issues on his mind than introductions and smalltalk.

❝they likely would not BOTHER to try to find his killer, but if we stay, they needn’t TRY,❞ he agrees. he’s seen it plenty of times, those who protect the law ignoring those who are down on their luck. were he a different man, he’d express PITY for the poor victim, but the moment is spent instead on FURTHERING his own survival.

❝keep your eyes on the exit, perhaps there’s another way out. the police, i’ve FOUND, don’t patrol so much in the back streets and alleys.❞

he ventures further in, enough trust in the woman’s no nonsense attitude that she wouldn’t rat him out. hands pressed into worn out bricks and growing lichen, he finds a path, OVERGROWN by weeds. clinging and crawling over stone with the ANGER of nature. he blinks, a narrow fit for him, but she should be fine.

❝do you see any pursuers? i’ve found a way out. i can use magic to repel them if i MUST.❞ it is dangerous allowing someone else to assist, he knows, but making enemies in this moment would be the farthest thing from WISE. 

Narberal had a better idea but she will be on the lookout for things. Sure, the one he found may not fit him but fits the doppelganger. She saw upcoming police officers coming not too far from their spot, she remembered how she carried Hamsuke, therefore she will use that idea once again.

“I can fly you out of here. Don’t move.” As she puts both arms on Ganondorf’s like a hook, she proceeds to use ‘Fly’ even for how many minutes she can handle. He may be heavy but she can do this as she found a highest rooftop before the cops reached. Narberal doesn’t sell anyone as she knows he can be trusted too.

It didn’t take too long than 9 minutes to reach the highest roof on one of those buildings and she succeeded. She still have around 21 minutes to use them.

❝then i shall SAVE my barriers in the event that they manage to catch up.❞ he scowls, but takes care to hold back scathing thoughts. ganondorf is GRATEFUL in a sense, certainly, but actually being honest and speaking those thoughts is another story. policemen file into the alley like ants, their footsteps quickly growing more and more distant to his ears. ❝they ought to be too distracted to NOTICE us at first.❞

but people HARDLY behave in the manner that you wish of them. as ganondorf's footsteps touch against solid ground once more, he finally places his gaze at their back. nothing, or at the very least, nothing in their sights. it feels PECULIAR to stand once again upon the surface, but he grits his teeth and continues to scan the skyline.
