IR-LED Board
The IR-LED board (p/n 416302000-3) is one of those small accessories that sometimes gets overlooked but plays a valuable role. Designed to be integrated on the inside of an enclosure with suitable access holes. The IR receiver is used for accessing the On Screen Display (OSD) menu of Digital View LCD controllers and works with the Digital View remote control.
The connection cable (p/n 426302000-3) is available separately or both as a kit.
Fiber Connection for Video Displays
Great for running video over hundreds of meters or even over a kilometer we provide fiber connection for display system developers using the soon to be announced SVX-1920-SDI controller.

Display PPI - Pixels Per Inch
A quick look at a few LED type LCD panel sizes, resolution and ppi (Pixels Per Inch:
27" 2560 x 1440: The ppi is 109 pixels per inch.
24" 1920 x 1200: The ppi is 94 pixels per inch.
15.6" 1920 x 1080: The ppi is 141 pixels per inch.
*************** To put this in some context:
Laser print quality 20 years ago was 300dpi and models with this resolution are still available, for some time now 600dpi has been normal and 1200dpi is readily available. Even 2400 dpi is available but expensive.
Inkjet printers typically offer 1200dpi or higher, up to around 4800 dpi.
Amazon Kindle Paperwhite is 212 ppi.
Apple iPad Retina is 264 ppi (older iPad 2 is 132 ppi).
Apple iPad Mini is 163 ppi.
Apple iPhone 4 & 5 is 326 ppi.
HTC One is 468 ppi.
Per Ray Soneira, human vision is at best capable of resolving 600 ppi from 10 inches.

Explore Functions With Controller Utility
The free Controller Utility application allows users to remotely access, monitor and control display systems using Digital View controllers over RS-232.
It is a full version with all functions enabled letting users explore the opportunities for system solutions. Digital View also offer engineering services to modify the user interface for custom user interface, logo etc.
Contact us for the latest version and further information.
The more recent Digital View controller models also support Ethernet communications for similar functionality. Although the Controller Utility does not support Ethernet access it provides a great test method for considering development options.

A novel use for transparent LCD's
An interesting use for transparent LCDs was demonstrated by Jinha Lee (MIT Media Lab) who developed the idea in collaboration with Daewung Kim. The video really explains itself:
As Lee explains in a Fast Company article (here) with just a camera you can't rotate your arm as the watch will not follow you.

Beats EnergyStar...
Another accessory for display systems to complement the Digital View family of LED (LCD) panel solutions, the Green Power board - this little board, pictured below, can be used with any Digital View controller (or display driver if you prefer) to power down the system with less than 0.1W power consumption when in standby mode.
The 'Green Power' board uses RS-232 to trigger a power Off or On command, the display system will then shut-down just leaving the Green Power board awake but only drawing less than 0.1W. The board can also be daisy chained so a series of displays can be deactivated or activated simultaneously.
