3.2- End of quarter reflection

The headshot that I used in my self representation post was taken when when I had red hair for a short time. Now that my hair is back to it’s natural brown, I don’t have a headshot that I like as much as that one. with the skills I have learned in this class, I have altered the headshot to accurately represent me.

After this class, not only can I create marketing material for myself (as an actor, my job is to sell myself), but I have the tools to explore my interests in design. My father is a publisher, and asked me to design a book cover. I would not have had that opportunity without this class.

2.2 Uncanny Reflection

I started editing my photo rather sparingly: altering hue and saturation and removing spots. This wasn't too disturbing; it was like putting on makeup after the fact. Then I went into liquify, and it started to become truly uncanny. It was probably the longest period of time I have spent looking at my own face, and it quickly became an unpleasant experience. It was probably this reason that I decided to cover my face in hair for my second uncanny photo. The first "beautiful" picture is far more uncanny, I imagine the second picture is similar to what I would look like if I flipped my hair over my face.

1.3 Self Representation

Hi, I'm Moira. I'm from Mt. Hood Oregon, went to high school in Tualatin, and am now in my fourth year here at SOU as a theatre major. My goal for a long time has been to act in a show at OSF, and what do you know, I'm going to do that next season! so I guess my new goal is to find some more goals, or maybe figure out what to do with my life. Other than being on stage, I like to ski, kayak, swim, play the banjo, and bake bread.

1.4 Collage

Figure 53: looking through the folder of images for this project, I found the sunglasses and thought it would be cool to show something reflecting in the lenses. I chose the picture of the African tribesman because it contrasted well in terms of color, texture, and subject matter.

Looks Like Rain: I wanted a collage of a rain storm. I chose these pictures from the folder (mostly because of color) and make it.

Full Windsor: This image began with the picture of the Frank Sinatra album. The background of the album looked a bit nebulous, so I made it even more so. Then I wanted to put a comical tie on him (so, you know, I went with three). During my google search I found the instructional diagram, and put that in too.
