It’s pretty straightforward! We just used this for iPhone messages and this for Android ones. Dream and Night both use iPhones because “Apple” jhafegdksjhffds

Beyond that, it’s a little bit of editing in post with SAI to get everything looking like how we want it :3 I also did some back-and-forth copy-pasting with this website for the last post because I wanted time-stamps in the iPhone texts and the first site doesn’t have it.

Okay, reuploading because my phone seems to hate me and keeps messing up the pic. ノಠ_ಠノ Anyway- don’t mess with Cross’ bae!

Our headcanons for languages absolutely originate from what their creators speak (with some minor alterations based on the character’s canons) and are basically like this:

Killer: Arabic (Native), English

Cross: English (Native), Spanish

Dream: Spanish (Native), English, bits and pieces of languages from all over the place that he’s picked up through exposure over the years (but no fluency in them)

Nightmare: Spanish (Native), English, French, Portuguese, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin, Cantonese, Arabic, Russian, etc. because this boy has had 500 years, loves to read, loves to learn, is a total nerd and has had so much fucking time to kill.

Rahaf basically outright states that Killer can speak Arabic and Joku said that Nightmare was really good at English but Dream found it difficult to learn because he didn’t like to study, even with Nightmare helping him. Jakei once did a little doodle of herself teaching a teenage!Cross Spanish (and getting him to call himself names skdjhdskdsj) so I figure it’s one of those bilingual kid things where your parents teach you the language from “back home” but you pick up English first and they’re like //SIGH

Me and Lyra have talked about it and it’s hilarious because, actually, it really turns Cross and Dream on when Killer mumbles things to them in Arabic that they don’t understand 😂👏 They 100% think it’s really sexy and, to be fair, Killer is absolutely saying filthy things to them. (As well as soft, affectionate things but shhh, don’t tell anyone.)

As far as Killer and Spanish go though—Lyra and I have had a field day thinking about how frustrated Killer gets with wanting to know what’s going on when they have full conversations in Spanish and he’s like “??? WHAT’S HAPPENING, WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?” to the point where he’s like “that’s it, I’m learning this language if it’s the last thing I do.”

… Nightmare’s the one to teach him. :”)

Lyra: Dream would let Blue and Ink know about his relationship at some point. It’s not something he can actually keep secret, especially if he makes an active decision to not fight his brother anymore.

As for Nightmare and CO corrupting an AU, Dream eventually convinces the other Star Sanses to let it slide—though it’s not exactly corruption that’s taking place. Ink doesn’t really have a problem with it to begin with in the grand scheme of things, so it’s people more like Blue, Red, Edge, and Stretch that Dream has to convince. Nightmare and Dream have negotiated a truce between them that allows for them both to reap positive and negative feelings on the condition that they don’t go overboard. So, at some point, Nightmare isn’t going to be sending out his gang to terrorize AUs (too badly), though he does stir up negativity at times to foster more power since he needs it to survive. This kind of negativity is mild though, so there’s no more dust on Nightmare’s or any of his gang’s hands. Dream knows this and lets it happen because the reality is life cannot exist with just positivity. There has to be negative emotions too, and as Nightmare and Dream will come to discover, there’s a neutral ground for both sides of these emotions.
