mads mikkelsen on feminism/female representation in film:
βwhen we approached the actor mads mikkelsen to speak about representation in film he said: βif this is about a swedish feminist thing then iβm not interestedβ, ellen telje says.β
βthere was a small discusison, but it didnβt end well. he was just scornful and critical. we feel itβs embarrassing because we thought such a person would have more knowledge about representation.β

Just got to know that he went to Jordan Peterson show last year, and while googling about it in disbelief I also found this tumblr post...
He has such good arguments and lots of reasoning behind them... people are mad that things they like get too excessive. He is very obviously not against feminism, he calls out the #metoo movement for quickly becoming toxic and a power move in job culture he wants a realistic representation of female characters in media and film he acknowledges that climate change has always happened and that we need to address that we are speeding things up and that there is no universal solution right now people are mad because what? he wants to look for common ground? wants to have healthy job cultures? wants science and reason to be a thing?
Dude seriously? Did you actually read the words he said?
"Too politically correct"??
"if this is about a feminist thing then im not interested" ??
And his view of climate change?? sure, very crafty expression, but it's crystal clear what he's implying- I mean he went to Jordan Petersons lecture for fucks sake.
"Did you actually read the words he said?" yes I have read the words he said, or rather these are just cut-out statements of longer discussions, I advise to always looking up the sources and reading the entirety and not the cherry-picked statements in case they are taken out of context
"crystal clear what he's implying" there are no implications unless you want to read something into it, this is not some poet writing abstractly about feelings or events that transpired in his life, this is a middle-aged actor that is asked about things outside his profession and he tries to explain himself and his opinions in a rather neutral way.
never ever support something blindly, and never ever support something 100% without knowing exactly (EXACTLY) everything about it, he clearly knows this and is careful not to draw quick conclusions -He has talked about toxic job cultures and addressed the issues at hand, especially the #metoo movement has dealt great damage to feminism in the long run, yes the initial start was great and right in everything it did but when things get connected to money (payouts, hush-money, lawsuit deals) black sheep will pop out of every nook and cranny and abuse a good thing to its core. He addresses this. -He also wants a realistic representation of female leads and figures in film/media. I don't know why that is supposed to be bad in the first place. -"The feminist thing" Ah yes, I have to look that up but I believe to remember there was an interview with him when he had worked on Death Stranding - pushing female leads into media (film/games etc.) just for the sake of them being female is a long-term disaster. Want to get sick of something real quick? Shove it down everybody's throat for years on end. The best reminder of this is that Viking film about a historic male Nordic person... being played by a black woman. Can't make this up. And instead of publishing his opinion from the interview posted above, Ellen Telje just writes her own opinion of it. His actual words never come to us, so we never know the truth of it.
-Climate change is widely known to be happening but what many people don't understand is that it is not man-made. Now don't write a response as you are reading this - climate change has always happened in the long history of the earth. The speed is what is currently concerning. We are not causing climate change, we are causing it to speed up, drastically even. And here is where scientists are trying to discuss and pin down the exact how's and why's. There are the obvious factors but there are more we are still discovering to this day that have more impact than we thought. He addresses this. He even clearly states (without any "implications") that he believes climate change is real, that is one of his first words in that response. Also, did you know that he made a video with the European Commission to raise awareness for climate change? Man, he must be such a sceptic based on this one text excerpt.
So to sum it up, yes I have read the thing. The entire thing. Also, Jordan Peterson is considered a bad person now? He was the most logic-based speaker I have seen in the last few years, would surprise me for what reason.
edit: I want to clarify the last bit from Sveriges television and how cherry-picking is the problem You can find the entire article here btw
Ellen Telje is an initiator for the "Equality label", also called "A-labeling" The entire article never states any of Mikkelsen's own words, not even paraphrasing him, instead the writer Ellen Telje only expresses her emotions and opinions of their talk. She goes back and forth about feminism and equality for women but when she dismisses Mikkelsen's opinion it was about the "representation of non-whites" in "Swedish television", and then never addresses race in the article again. There is so much missing here and I would dismiss this entire article as a non-reliable source due to the lack of professionalism and cutting out all important key points to understand the situation.
If I would go by this article alone, it would tell me that Ellen Telje is a feminist that wants to push race agendas into feminism similar to what happens currently with the Cleopatra movie.

hannibal is so cringefail because how do you successfully get away with literal murder and cannibalism for years all while being a well respected sophisticate and food connoisseur and then risk it all for a guy covered in dog hair who is also an asshole and also wants to kill you real bad

A very complicated one at that.
nothing is more humbling when youβre watching an edit of your favorite actor and then the screen goes black and you see yourself on your screen basically thirsting over them
