I'm back Y'all, finally realised I do need some community to help me get through this all.
Since I left Tumblr I've graduated high school, lived in Taiwan for a year, studied Aerospace Engineering for 3 years, and never got any better at managing my diabetes. Let's see if any life experience can help
There was a myth then - and it still permeates T1D culture now...That if you do the 'right things' all your blood sugars will fall into place. This is simply not true. I was taught that if you find the magic proportion of activity, food, and insulin you will be happy and healthy all the live long day. Its easy right? My reality is - and I think this is true for T1D in general - is that my numbers fluctuate because today's body is not the same as yesterday's. There are patterns and general guidelines to follow sure. But life is not static and routine, also plenty of other factors effect blood sugar - not just food, diet, and meds. Some of those factors are known but there is no way to currently influence them, others are unknown, and some are just too difficult to predict with reasonable accuracy the majority of the time.
I saw this and thought you needed to see this too

What No One Tells You About Tubing
Pump tubing gets in the way of so many things. When you first get it they tell you all about alerts and changing and priming, but then you go to the bathroom for the first time and its just….

oke story time. today I was in class and I decided to check my bg so I took the thing out dead silently and I squeeze my finger, all very normal and innocent and all, but then suddenly there is a beam of BLOOD spraying from my finger right onto my right eye. Me, surprised yet calm try to remain as silent as possible and attract as little attention as possible, which was going great if it weren't for my teacher.
Now this teacher was the kind of guy whose life goal is to make students uncomfortable, and his ultimate objective is an awkward silence in which a student is desperately searching for an answer on his question, which is asked in such a manner that the only reaction you can possibly give is either remain silent, which is awkward, but most of the time the best option, or seem like a psychopath. Of course there are these certain students (of which I am one) who see this as a welcome distraction and challenge. This time however my face was covered in blood and coming up with a clever comment was rather hard.
so this teacher stops in the middle his explanation and just stares at me. The class slowly wakes up and there I sit, blood on my eye and hands, 50 eyes on me, trying to wipe it the blood away, making the situation anything but better.
"all you alright" mr geography teacher asked. It seemed like he either chose to spare me or I looked like a zombie, with the last option more probable.
"there's some blood on my face" I said, still wiping my face with my hand
"I see."
now came one of his famous awkward pauses, luckily I had something to do, which is wiping blood of my face.
"happens me all the time" he added sracastically.
I decided to make use of this situation by asking him if there still was blood on my face. Which wasn't that samrt after all because now he came all the way to my table to take a close look
"nah you're fine" he said, gave me another glance with his eyebrows remarkably high raised and continued his geography talk.
