I merely asked if he wanted to test the strengths of our wands, I even complimented him on his staff.

I’ve run into… slight complications. I’ll be running a bit late, I have another matter to attend at the moment. This elf brought by @vattgherncirilla proved to be more problematic than I thought. Luckily, he’s no mage, so he’ll be easy to lock in the basement.
