It's only an Illusion

They wake up one day and decide they don't want to be with you anymore. They left you for the one they told you not to worry about.

It alters your world but time goes on and eventually you find yourself thriving and doing well.

Out of the blue you find out they are expecting a child. A hunch you always had.

The child was conceived only a few short months after your separation.

Mind you. Children. Marriage. Commitment even. Never things he wanted.

But she got most of them so easily and so quickly.

I know some people are not compatible- I wish I just hadn't wasted years. Giving second third and fourth chances.

Chances when I should've went running in the other direction.

It's weird to see someone else getting the life you wanted with someone. But I step back and I do realize. I didn't want that with them. Not the them I know now. The real them. The mean and even more hurtful them.
