I've not been even remotely interested in any of the recent mcu stuff, but if they're bringing j.ames s.pader back as ultron... ok, u've got my attention, marvel execs

#i think ultron in what if would've been a million times better if james had voiced him #and like i shant lie i had lost all hope by like 2019 that we'd ever see ultron in live action again #but after what if I'd completely lost hope that james would be involved if we did... like i guess i just assumed he wasn't interested in #reprising the role at all #but here we are!#and this is a little dark and a little silly in retrospect but in 2017 one of the things that genuinely kept me from committing sewerside #was the thought of like... but what if they bring ultron back... i'll never know what they do with the character #LOL like very stupid thing to live for in retrospect but at least i lived #suicide tw #suicide /#ANYWAY enough abt that. i'm in a much better place now #it's just a little surreal that ultron is actually coming back and is actually gonna be played by james again

I'm not here, but every once in a while I remember that time vision (shortly after he was created) asked ultron what his name was and ultron just yelled back "NO NAME, CLOWN!" and I smile

#vision *pained*: who am i? what name is mine?#ultron: CLOWN!#60s ultron is so fucking funny #the differences in ultron and vision's personalities upon birth are also so funny to me #vision emerges into the world as this like... melancholic philosophical and slightly sad-wet-puppy kinda guy #and meanwhile ultron is 'born' and is just immediately like *starts attacking people for no good reason while insulting them*#and they are both unbelievably lucky to have been fucked by wanda

frankly, this could never believably be ultron to me because ultron is far too vain to look like this

#too vain and too greedy! ultron would never share a face with someone #(except for janet but it would probably be best to collectively forget that ever happened)

It's so annoying to me that 616 has done such a 360 from rage of ultron and is now stubbornly claiming that hanktron is all ultron and no hank instead of just admitting that hank wasn't ever all-good, he was always insecure and angry and maybe, just maybe the reason he hasn't "freed" himself from ultron yet is because he doesn't want to.

#scott I'm sorry but you cant argue that they're not hank by saying hank would've freed himself from ultron if he had the power of the #all father... but then ignore all the things they did (or didnt do) that ultron would've never done #it's soooo annoying to me #i just want the old ultron back... the old ultron was so funny

had a dream about ultron and now i am unwell about ultron and eric williams again

#once again thinking about ultron repeatedly stressing that she's alive but also seemingly not caring that more than half the #616 universe's cast would argue otherwise. it's such an essential part of her self-assigned identity and i love her for it #it's definitely something that's been forgotten in certain interpretations where ultron has been assigned more of the cold-unfeeling robot #archetype but that's NOT at all who ultron originally was. ultron has always been full of emotion to the point where it's the driving #motivator for most of what she does and even how she's defeated. she's SO full of life #and i think part of why ultron gravitates towards eric is because she sees him kind of as her reflection in regards to vision and wonder ma #(which is another reason i personally view vision and ultron more as siblings than parent/child)#but also in regards to her own identity and her viewing herself as viscerally alive. eric is a human: considered alive by default and yet #he's the grim reaper. the embodiment of death. ultron is a robot so she's considered void of life by default and yet she KNOWS she's alive #she knows she's thinking she knows she exists #“You who are dead yet “live”-- and I who am the ultimate synthetic embodiment of life.”#literally her first words to hank in 1968 were “I'm alive... Just like you.”#anyway I am normal about ultron
