This is my weakness.

Older pictures are with a T4i, more recently it's a 6D for the most part but I also use an older 1D for action shots. There's a big price range between those cameras ($300 to 1000's) as well as the lenses I use ($80-$1500). I've taken good pictures with all of those but I've also taken good pictures with my phone... The equipment doesn't really matter. Fleshcircus' video of Straps with >350k notes was taken with my $300 T4i, I have pictures taken with her 6D and a $1000 lens with only a few notes. A great picture (or video) takes an eye for the shot from the photographer as well as the viewing audience, not fancy equipment. Some photographers, amateur or pro, would actually take offence to one dumbing down a great photograph to the camera... P.S.: Nikon sucks! Go Canon!
