Derek Kensington

“I’m happy so yes, he is a good influence” she replied as she poked him in the arm playfully with an outstretched index finger. “Totally out of the question!” she chuckled. “I’m flattered that you care enough to be concerned but I don’t want him scaring off thank you very much!”

Avery pulled her lips from his, sighing as the kiss was broken. She hadn’t wanted to end the moment between them but things tended to heat up quickly between the pair. And needless to say, their place of work wasn’t the ideal environment for that. “But unfortunately, it is that bad.” She teased back. “One takeout. Deal.” She smiled up at him.

“Avery carefully slipped her hands into Derek’s pockets, looking up at him with wide eyes, her mischief evident in her gaze. “You.” She paused. “Will be the death of my figure. But I’ll take a takeout over your… attempt at cooking any day.” 

Derek grinned at her hands slid into his pockets, the sensation new as he met those mischievous eyes feigned insult. “Hey, my cooking isn’t that bad!” He smirked. “And your figure is incredible... A little take out here and there wont hurt.” Derek leaned down to steal a quick kiss.

“Maybe you just haven’t met the right vampire?” Ana suggested, clearly ignoring the signs that he wanted nothing more to do with this particular conversation. “Ah but that’s what makes it fun. I don’t do boring sweetie.”

“Pretty sure I’ve met all of those that occupy this club. Seems like plenty.“ Derek deadpanned and shook his head at her following comment. “I’m not boring. Just prefer to keep my job. That and my life...“

“Well. I’ve just finished up for the day.” Avery purred. “I could see you when you get home and you can spend as much time with that–” Avery leaned in and whispered in his ear. “Completely naked brunette.” She pulled back. “That you seem to like so much?” She added, pulling her hair to one side of her head, smirking softly.

Derek smirked at her whisper and carefully took hold of the fabric at her side, gently tugging her back to him. “I could probably meet you back there. I miss that little brunette of mine.” He mused. “Takeout?”

“I can’t help it, he brings out a side of me I didn’t even know was there. A rule breaking one” she laughed softly knowing she could trust Derek not to tell anyone. “I don’t know if you do or not. He’s not like that, he wouldn’t. At least I don’t think so. He said he met me and knew what he wanted” she blushed. “His name’s Oliver”

“Okay! Okay!” she sighed as she blushed. “There is someone. But it’s meant to be hush hush. Because…well, he’s a member”

“It depends what day of the week it is and which mirror I’m looking in” Lyla laughed before a blush rose to her cheeks as he totally figured her out. “What makes you think anyone is doing that? Can’t a girl just be happy?”

“Well you know, in this club full of beautiful, flexible and seductive women I have to bring some skill to the table” she chuckled. “I’m good. Really good” she smiled, her mind wandering to Oliver for a brief moment. Since she’d met him, her life had suddenly got a lot better. “How about you?”

“Now now, no need to defend her. I’m sure she is.” Ana responded, getting a rise from the reaction she had caused, now needing to calm the situation. “But do tell me. What is she for you to be so… infatuated. Surely she’s not a vampire? Perhaps a human?” She pushed, wanting to dig a little deeper. “Oh but darling, the single ones are never any fun.”

“I’m not sure. Maybe it’s you.” Avery laughed before feeling his touch on her skin, leaning into it. “How could you not miss this?” She smirked, wiggling her body gently. “I was never any good at chess.” She mused, eyes flickering over the game.

“Oh, Derek. You’re not even going to entertain my fun? It was just a joke.” Ana mused, a soft laugh dancing in her words. “But do let me know where I can direct my appreciation. Your girlfriend must be something to be able to keep up with you. All that rage, no patience.” Ana teased dangerously. A part of her couldn’t help but poke at his inner wolf.

“This entire place is dangerous Derek, you can’t blame me for wanting to be a little mischievous. It is my nature after all.” Avery purred, slipping her jacket off her shoulder slightly, uncovering her supple skin. “And I missed you. Is that so bad?”

“Then stop playing, it’s clearly not working. Stop torturing yourself needlessly”

“Don’t look at me like that Derek. We both see way more here than everyone else. Because we’re always on the sidelines observing and not actually part of it. There is definitely some shady stuff even if Lyla does her best to hide it”

“You’re just saying that because I’m winning. I never had you down for a sore loser, Derek”
