Deputy Parrish

Dyson wished he had hugged him. He hated it when he couldn’t stop what he saw…but at least he had a nickname already. That brought him a hint of happiness, but then quickly went away when he realized that he had not told his brother the truth about his gift. Would he ever tell him? He tried to play with what he saw with what actually happened. “I was walking around and I heard a gunshot. When I saw the potential attacker he was quite far away, but I took a picture of him…but it looks a bit blurry because of the zoom.” He informed him. “Not that I’m right, but my private detective skills say that this was more planned than anything else. It didn’t look like she was robbed” He said and knew what his brother would say “I checked the body before the cops came. I know I shouldn’t have.”

The two may not have grown up together and are literally now getting to know each other, but he could still see that something was off about his brother. He scribbles in some information that his brother provides just in case his boss asks him, but more so because he wants to be as extremely thorough as one could possibly be. He looks up at this brother when he mentions having a picture of the unsub but frowns upon realizing that the face is extremely out of focus, but it’s a start of a profile. “Do you think you could you email me me that picture?” He questions, but then his mind is more focused on his brother’s private detective side he did not know. “You’re a PI? That can be useful. Are you registered with the state or not yet?” Ordinarally he would be upset that a witnessed tampered with the body because it may incriminate them, but he knows his brother is not capable of being a killer. Well he strongly believes he can’t but then again he didn’t expect to find out he was some kind of hellhound. "Thanks for being honest with me."

“Max said Deucalion was attacked, so that’s not entirely true. You just aren’t paying attention to it.” He hadn’t heard of any other attacks, although he knew plenty of people on the list. “And it’s not just random names, it’s supernatural random names. It means something.” He waited as Parrish send some cops after whoever shot the dead guy, and then looked at the ground. Digging his phone from his pocket, he opened up the Pokemon app. “I was trying to hatch an egg. Figured I’d let the boys get some exercise in.”

“I—” He clears his throat causing a short pause before continuing, “—We have been having some trouble locating this Deucalion character. We figured it was an alias this person was using but if some one has been attacked off that list then we will have to keep close watch on everyone.” He does take mental note that the names on the list belong to those of the supernatural variety and it only makes Jordan more concerned. He takes comfort in knowing that his name was not on the list, but his own brother is, which makes him rather curious about what kind of secret he is hiding. He takes a quick glance at the man’s phone before speaking once more. “I’ll report that back to the Sheriff. Between the two of us Mr. Daniels, do you think there’s another list somewhere? I noticed you weren’t on there.” More importantly he wasn’t either but he does not need to say this.

The deputy takes out his notepad once more and flips the page to a new spread so he can take any useful notes from the man. Once the man spins around he realizes that he does not know who he is. Just to make sure that he is truthful Jordan decides that maybe looking at a driver’s license might speed up the whole process since he can jot his name down and investigate him further after this initial meeting. “First and foremost do you have any identification on you, it’ll make this a bit easier.”

Levi waved a hand behind Parrish. “That way. I don’t know if he changed directions after he got out of sight.” He froze at the question. The idea that Parrish didn’t know about the list shocked him. How could the police not know? “It was in the paper,” he said, pulling the clipping from his pocket. He kept it mostly to remind himself that he hadn’t dreamed it, that it was a real thing.

“From what we gathered from that list is that they were random names on a piece of paper. None of the people on the list have been hurt in any way shape or form.” The deputy has to stop himself from continuing. In all reality the department are currently keeping tabs on the individuals on the list in case they have been contacted or harmed, but there’s no correlation between the killings and the short list. He does turn away from Levi to signal for another deputy to come over to him with a short whistle. “Hey, Deputy Sampson I need you and Deputy Cortez to head East and look for any clues the killer might have left behind. Shoe imprints, blood, anything useful. Stay in radio contact. We don’t know if the killer is lurking around the area.” He orders the deputy before spinning around back to Levi. “Why were you in the area? Not a lot of people come over to the abandoned warehouses.”

Levi pushed his hands against his eyes, trying to remember. “He was running,” he said, as explanation for his lack of specific knowledge. “I think…about the same as you. I can’t know for sure.” He looked back at Parrish, feeling utterly small given the situation. Parrish had his little vendetta against Levi, and what better time to frame him than when people were dropping like flies. “Is this about the list?”

“Okay, so he was running. Was there a specific direction he was running towards? And did you see anyone or any thing else?” The deputy asks not to confuse the man or anything but if this is a legitimate lead then he’ll have to at least get some of the other deputies to head off in that direction to canvass the area. Parrish then raises an eyebrow when he hears a mention of a list. This being the first time there was any mention of it. “What list, Daniels?” He questions with a rather perplexed look on his face. If there’s some kind of list of people that are being killed then if the department could get a hold of it then there’s a chance to catch the killer or killers.

Levi appreciated that Parrish at least acknowledged his dogs. It was too far from his house for Levi to have run back and gotten them after supposedly killing the dead guy, so he was glad he brought them on this walk. In truth, he was catching Pokemon, but he had the dogs. “I…yeah, I’m pretty sure. I heard it, I didn’t see it, and it spooked my guys, and then there was…” He closed his eyes, trying to picture it. “I think it was a man. I’d say like…a bit taller than me. Fast. I couldn’t see his face.”

The deputy nods at every little bit of information that he receives from the man. He’ll have to double, even triple check everything just to make sure that everything is accurate but with there being few witnesses on the scene he does not think he’ll get that chance. He does still jot down the few potential leads he has. “Okay, so he was taller than you. Was he about my height or was he taller, shorter?” He asks trying to get as much as he can out of him.

Upon seeing that the person was one Levi Daniels it only raised suspicion about what he was doing here. Sure it may be the wrong place at the wrong time, but if it isn’t then he has a sure case to get him in jail. Levi might assume that Parrish sees him as a suspect, which is true but it’ll only naturally force him to shut down. If he is to salvage this properly he’ll have to thread carefully. Although it does not help the situation that he immediately starts ranting about being innocent. The deputy looks up and spies some dogs tied up not too far away from where they are to which he nods. “Mr. Daniels, did you see anyone shoot the deceased or flee from the scene?”

Pure astonishment strikes the deputy when he realizes that the person is his own brother. He has yet to disclose this important information to anyone which may look bad if the information does come out, so it looks like he’ll have to talk to his boss, something he has not done since his breakup with Stiles. “Hey, Dy. You okay, you look shaken up.” He asks in a soft tone. Ordinarily he would probably greet his older brother with a warm hug or a firm handshake of sorts, but since no one else knows about their relation, he should keep it rather professional. “Some of the other deputies say that you discovered the body. Did you notice anything unusual?”
