My life circumstances changed, so next semester I'll start my second college degree! However, this means my Simblr activity will decrease by a lot and I won't handle taking any commissions anymore. Trades with other creators will continue but in a very reduced capacity.
I don't plan to leave the community AT ALL, but again, be warned there will be way less new CC after a while. Even recently, I got on some proofreading gigs for one of my favorite tabletop RP scenarios so that's why I didn't open comms after January.

Hey everyone, here's another spicy experimental thingy from me. Emphasis: experimental. Please back up your saves! I haven't found any issues, but you should err on the safe side!
I'm resisting the urge to write this description as a winding story about why this thing exists and how so here's as quick a rundown as I can manage:
This is an ASI mod (like Smooth Patch or Settings Setter) that goes into your Bin folder and does its thing at runtime.
Depending on your setup, it might significantly speed up loading times from game launch to in-world. In one of my saves, it went down from over 18 minutes down to between 3 and 4.
It should also reduce memory usage (specifically, the 'virtual address space'--the real reason for Error 12 and memory-related crashes). How much depends on your setup, but it could be up to several hundred MB.
In-game stutters and especially multi-minute freezes (if you experience those) should be shorter and fewer overall. Not gone, but much more playable.
This mainly works on retail and Steam versions of the game. Many of the patches won't activate on EA App version. You can still use it, and might still reap some benefits, but the strongest patches aren't supported yet. It's in the pipeline, though, so stay tuned.
You need an ASI loader for the mod to load (like the wininet.dll from Ultimate ASI loader). If you use any other ASI mod, like Smooth Patch or Settings Setter, you likely already have it.

sims3fiend et al for Sims 3 Settings Setter. This mod started out as a "Settings Setter lite" for personal use because Setter proper added a little too much VAS for my bloated save's liking. But all the S3SS patches are removed from this release version. You can use them together freely if you want all the patches.
Giving my heads-up that it very much works. Tried it right now in a Bridgeport save without a world fix or building fixes and, while I didn't keep exact time, the loading times decreased absurdly.
Simulation lag also decreased significatively, but I've had some ErrorTrap messages with random NPCs - I do think they're unrelated with the mod and I need to do a Reset Everything for save maintenance, though.
EDIT: The Errotrap messages were just from the Stuck Reset from Overwatch - I disabled it, then gone!
Unrelated but I read 70GB as 700GB and went HOW- anyways I have two different CC folders!
My main folder is 152GB without deco sims (much larger when added) but it takes about ten minutes ;_; </3 (I'm planning on purging A LOT soon...... in three to one-hundred business days.....)
And my steampunk occult folder is 115GB and that takes about five minutes which is AWESOME! bb is so easy to use, however cas is challenging bc of how limited the clothing options are

Okay 45.9GB, putting the timer on... Alright 8 and a half minutes! But normally it's longer because I switch saves which means it has to load to world select before getting to in-game. But generally 5 minutes to reach the main menu screen and then 3 to 5 to get in the save.

43.7 GBs in my mods folder, 48+ GBs in total. I have sub folders for cc I don't use regularly, such as medieval era and Alpha, and only put them back when I'm using them to create a sim for someone else.
It took me 4:58 minutes to get into a save file with the EA app online, and 4:08 offline (normally I swear it's less than four minutes). The difference is that the ads always freeze my game, so unless I plan on using the gallery, I play offline.
Overall I think the reason why my game loads relatively quickly is that I try not to go overboard with build clutter, use smaller sized lots with my active households and I don't use any build&buy cc. Also I'm on a gaming laptop. Load times were much much slower when I was completely vanilla on a laptop I'd had since 2019.

My mods folder is 46 GB. It took me 2 minutes and 42 seconds to load the Miller file, and that one has some legacy behind it. But I know my game loads fresh and smaller saves faster.

My mods folder is currently at 5.44 GB (which is a lot for me, someone who used to be a mostly vanilla simmer lol). It takes me 1 minute to load the home screen, 30 seconds or less to load into my saves.
I'm VERY selective with my cc because if I don't use it or it doesn't match my in-game aesthetic I immediately take it out. I regularly cull and organize my folder to avoid duplicating files as well. I also like to make subfiles (occults, family, animals etc) so I can easily take things out if I don't need it for a specific save.
I've been adding to it a lot more recently for my occult gameplay though so I'm sure that number will go up soon.
97 GB. 95 of them are CAS mods only, and 30 of these 95 are SKINTONES :D I can't help it; I use alpha skins only, and they're very heavy. I recently started sorting my mods, and now I have a lot of folders and subfolders, which isn't good for loading. So it takes about 2 or 3 minutes?

I have 166 gb with 27,355 pieces of cc & idk how long it takes my game to load but ever since i turned off (show cc when loading game) it got significantly shorter.
25.3 GB, packages only. I want to whittle it down but a big part of it would involve editing a ton of packages to remove unrecolorable swatches and that takes a lot of time :( I've already deleted a ton of old hairs and dated clothing I didn't use :(
Sims 3 is critically lacking in rings, especially for men, so here are a few i converted as well as some other wedding goodies. All of these have custom thums, multiple presets and are lowish poly, the highest being the boutonniere at 3k. The boutonniere is recolorable and I made it compatible with hat sliders so it can be moved to fit different meshes!

The town, known in the past for its gloomy and dark atmosphere, is now a vibrant community which hasnāt forgotten its roots, still noticeable in the abundance of Victorian and historical buildings. And its inhabitants arenāt exactly ordinary either: rumour has it that some of them returned from the deadā¦ā
I don't remember exactly how (my love of Victorian architecture must have played a part, though), but at some point last year I decided that I needed to remake Midnight Hollow without the dark atmosphere and dead trees, and to update the lots beyond the base game. So here you have Ravinehood.
Credits to Cawster for the CAW files. I used 9 textures (one by Nilxis, the others by EA ā from World Adventures, Dragon Valley, and Sunlit Tides), while the custom lighting is from the University world.

Requirements
This world requires the following expansion packs: World Adventures, Ambitions, Late Night, Generations, Pets, Supernatural, Seasons, University Life (so all but Showtime, Island Paradise and Into the Future). Supernatural is particularly important as it's the expansion that contains most of the Victorian-esque items that match this world; also, the world is home to a few occults which were introduced in that pack.
Ravinehood does not require Stuff Packs, there is no custom content or store content. You don't need Midnight Hollow to make it work. This also means, tangentially, that the world does not have a distant terrain ā which, for those who don't know, is a special object which usually surrounds all worlds that are not islands to hide that the worlds are essentially a square-shaped area with an ocean around them. No worries, though: the mountains around Ravinehood are so tall that during regular gameplay you won't even notice its absence.
Lots
This world has 91 lots: 37 commercial, 41 residential, and 13 empty ones. (Midnight Hollow originally had 92 lots: I replaced two adjacent lots with a single bigger one to fit the combined school/stadium rabbit hole. The deleted lots contained the theater and the police station/military base combo, which were moved elsewhere.) Because of the mountains, you can only place additional lots on the shoreline.
All lots are the ones originally designed by EA for Midnight Hollow, renovated by me. Community lots have seen the most changes to add content from the aforementioned expansions, while for residential lots I've taken a more conservative approach, mostly adding color and removing store content. The lots around the city center that were intended for using the Savvy Seller set have become clubs and an apartment.
The world features a library, a graveyard, a junkyard, a consignment store with a dry cleaner, a nectary, a gym, a public pool, a beauty salon, a fire department, a nerd shop (paired with an elixir shop), a dog park, a cat jungle, a horse ranch, two art galleries (one of which includes a relic shop), two beaches, two fishing spots, two parks (including a festival lot), and five hangout spots of different types. All rabbit holes from the base game, Late Night, Pets and Supernatural are included. There are two bistros. The film studio from Late Night is in the basement of the university building shell (which also includes a bowling alley, a cafeteria, and a fake movie theater).
Ravinehood also includes four extra lots posted by EA on The Sims 3 Store: the Gothique Library, the Golden Ticket Toy Shop, the Now and Then Century Manor, and the Grim Ghastly Manor. The store contents have been removed and the lots have been reimagined as the nectary, the consignment store, and two houses, respectively. The fire station, salon, and horse ranch are modified versions of the ones that came with the Pets EP.
Population
There are 40 Sims and 8 pets living in Ravinehood, divided into 23 households each with its own story. Their ages cover all life stages from toddler to elder, although most are young adults and adults; 13 of them are occults. There are also 2 pregnancies in their early stages. Most Sims know at least one skill, have a job, and have relationships and friendships outside their household.
Most of the Sims were created by EA as ghosts for their worlds, but they appear in Ravinehood resurrected and with new stories (so you'll find Lolita Goth raising a fairy in what was once the Specter house, and the Remingtons from Riverview striving to catch a unicorn). My thanks go to the simmer community who kindly shared them on the Exchange. The other Sims were created by me, sometimes drawing inspiration from my reading, particularly Terry Pratchett's "Discworld" series and Herbie Brennan's "Faerie WarsĀ Chronicles".
NPC Sims will be randomly generated by the game, so I recommend installing the Random Sim Fixes 2.0 mod by LazyDuchess to avoid them all looking the same.
(All screenshots were not edited, but the snow might look a little different because I use the Snow but better! Mod by Liralei. Other than that, that is exactly how the world looks in-game, with its own custom lighting.)

On request, but also on my own wish list for a long time because I have a Sim 3 who DREAMS to have a nail salon; I made the hair dresser set for her because Sims 3 can't (yet?) have a nail salon, but that's her real goal lifeā¦

The DUNDERGUBBE box has 5 presets, only one is CAStable.
The FRAKTA bag is not CAStable, left it like that since IKEA only has blue and yellow as its bag color (also, the mask would be difficult to make - yeah, yeah I admit I'm lazy lol).
The JĆTTESTA shelf unit is almost as high as a full wall, so a slightly shorter version is also included, which has same height as the EKENABBEN shelf.
The KALAS utensils (except for the cutlery) are stackable.
The KLUNKA laundry basket is functional, so you need either Ambitions, Town Life, University, or any of the store hampers to function properly.
The XL rug has a total of 36 presets, so they are divided into two sets of 18 presets each (idk if it's just me but I can't imagine scrolling across presets that plenty lol).
These items have a reasonable polycount for gameplay (highest was around 2k+)
Since this a large set, I've also included a collection file (aisquared4to3simkoosIKEA_COLLECTION.package) to put in the Collections folder.
