“Really? That’s a right shame!” His grin only widens. He’s a friendly man—for the most part—and he hopes that it shows. “I guess that means I’ll have to say it again. Your eyes are really beautiful!” Adonis sticks out his hand, meaning to shake the other man’s. “I’m Adonis—but you can call me Addy if you’d like.” He winks as if they’re sharing some sort of special secret. 

“Wow—your eyes are really gorgeous!” He puts on his best smile even though he literally just decked a homophobe. For once, it seems, his anger is short lived. Adonis wipes the blood off his knuckles casually. Stains his jeans with the blood. “But I’m sure everyone tells you that, huh?” 

“You might wanna look away.” Now that the rage has died down he has to clean up his mess. There’s blood all over him—thankfully, it’s mostly his own. “I don’t look too good.” Hell—he doesn’t feel too good. The laceration on his stomach won’t stop bleeding and he might be in a little over his head. “Uh—I don’t know what else to say. Hah.” His laugh is a little nervous. “This is. . .mostly my fault.”

“I’m hopin’ that if I make it big as a chef while I’m still in school that Ma will change her mind.” He shrugs. “I know she just wants me to live a more comfortable life than she did—but I still want to be able to follow my dreams, y’know?” Adonis orders another shot for them both and downs it as soon as it hits the table. “ Did you always want to be a programmer? Or do you have a hidden passion that you follow too?” 

“Hey, c’mere!” Adonis wraps his arms around Al’s waist. “You know you’re a really great guy, right? Like. . .you’re a good person. A real good person.” He grins and flutters his eyelashes. “You amaze me! You shine bright like the sun and you’re warm like the sun too.” 

“Heh—I guess so? Reminded me of the Matrix.” He wasn’t really familiar with binary code, nor was he really all that great with computers. “I’m a line cook at a five star restaurant. I’d like to be the head chef someday though—but my Ma is having me go to college for accounting.” 

“Yeah, buddy!” He totally likes it when a man can handle his liquor & Naoya slings that shit back like a pro. “You mean it?” His grin widens. “Let’s get fucking lit, Naoya.” Adonis pumps his fist, totally into it. “So—what do you do for a living? Maybe something with computers?” 

“To be fair I don’t drink alcohol every time I visit—sometimes I just get a basket of fries.” Adonis grins and grabs hold of the shot glass that the bartender places in front of him. “To a new friendship?”

“Wait—are you talkin’ metaphorically?” 

“Really—?” Adonis laughs a little. “These things are always a little weird. Do you think it’s fate that we met? Or was it just all completely random?” He tilts his head & reaches over to tuck a strand of hair behind Greyson’s ear. “Oh, you know what’s fun? Tarot readings! We should totally get our tarot read.” He’s only a little superstitious—but he likes to think that there’s some truth to horoscopes and tarot readings. Maybe not the online ones, but the ones done by real people.
