Your room in the bunker was your fortress. Everyone knew that they shouldn't bother you, when you were hiding behind the closed doors. And today was the day, when you needed to rest and maybe unwind after so many brutal hunts with your boys. So you were spending your day in your pajamas, watching your favorite series, reading your favorite books and eating pizza. After some time you decided to listen to some music, so you put on your headphones and turn on your favorite song. You were dancing around the room and singing quietly to yourself. But when the "System of a Down - Chop Suey!" came next, you started to sing with the whole power of your lungs.
Castiel was walking by your doors, when a certain line that you almost shouted, made him almost trip on his own legs.
"... angels deserve to die!"
This was all he heard. His heart slumped in his chest. Did you mean it? Did you hate him so much, that you thought that he deserved to die? It pained him greatly. A few days ago he realized that this weird feeling that he always felt around you was love. And now, when he was ready to confess his feelings, you just crushed his hopes. He frowned and a sad sigh escaped from his lips. He wanted to knock on your door and talk to you, but now he was too scared of doing it. Scared that you will look at him with disgust and hatred. So he retreated to his own room.
When the evening came, you finally left your room. You ate the pizza a long time ago, so you were hungry and thirsty. Your first stop was at the kitchen. You made yourself tea and took a slice of pie, that Dean left unattended on a table. You thought that maybe you will get your ass beaten for it, but it was worth it, as this pie was delicious. No wonder why Dean loved to eat pies so much. Then you went to the library. Sam was sitting by the table, researching something on his laptop with a focused face. Dean was probably in a Dean cave, as you heard some Scooby-Doo episode playing from far away, followed by the laugh of older Winchester.
"Sammy, where is Castiel?"
You asked, when you didn't notice your favorite angel in any of his usual places that he liked to linger.
"Probably in his room, he has been sitting there since the afternoon. Maybe you should check on him, he looked pretty sad when I saw him last."
You nodded and immediately went through long corridors that led to his room. He was rarely spending time in it, as he was usually spending his time in a library. Or in whatever place that you were in too. You thought that this was cute. Or to be more precise, you thought that he was cute. You had a thing for him, but you didn't act on it, as you didn't want to overwhelm him with all these emotions, that was somehow still new to him.
You knocked on his door and waited for an answer.
"Come in."
His voice was even more gravely than normally. You entered his room and closed the door behind you. He was sitting on his bed, forearms on his thighs, his eyes fixed on the floor. He really looked sad, just like Sam said. You made a few steps and sat down beside him. He looked at you with those deep blue eyes, that were now full of pain. This made your chest ache.
"What happened, Cass? You seem down."
You asked worryingly. Castiel tilted his head a little in a confused manner.
"Why do you care?"
He asked carefully. Why did you care about him, if you hated him so much?
"Why wouldn't I care about my favorite angel?"
You reply with a question of your own. You raised your hand and lightly brushed his dark hair. They were smooth and fluffy. Castiel closed his eyes and let himself enjoy your touch. His head lightly moved in your direction, as in a silent plea for more of your touches. This made you chuckle lightly. After some time Castiel opened his eyes and looked straight into your eyes.
"So you don't hate me?"
His question caught you off guard, your hand went still in his hair.
"Why would I hate you?"
How could he think that you hated him?
"I heard you today. You shouted that angels deserve to die. I thought that you hate me."
He said, sadness creeping into his eyes again. Then you started to laugh. His eyes widened, as he didn't expect this reaction from you. Was he right? Were you laughing at him?
"Cassie, I don't hate you! I was only singing Chop Suey! It's going like: "I don't think you trust, in my self-righteous suicide, I cry when angels deserve to die"."
You sang to him the part that he had to hear you singing in your room. You facepalmed, your laughter rising in your throat again. Castiel looked at you in disbelief.
"So this was only a song?"
He asked in a small voice, hoping that it was really the truth.
"Yes dumbass. Besides how could I hate you, when I clearly am in love wit-"
You almost said it out loud, but you clasped your hands on your mouth. But Castiel already heard what he had to hear. A small blush appeared on his cheeks alongside a rare smile and he slowly reached for your hands, making them uncover your mouth. Then he brushed your cheek with his thumb, and just like he saw in the movies, he leaned to you and kissed you.
"I love you too."
He confessed, when you were still looking at him with an awestruck face. But you quickly shake yourself out of your dazed state and smiled at him.
"I love you too, my angel."
You kissed him again and hugged him tightly, thanking God or whoever there was for this misunderstanding, as this finally pushed you towards each other.
