part of what makes taylor kelly so much fun is that if she had chosen a different angle on the someone managed to dose an entire fire station with psychedelics story-- looking at the systems in place which allowed this to happen and perhaps putting some investigative skills to use to find who did it-- that story absolutely would have made it to air because like it or not it is deeply newsworthy.

that's a crazy thing to happen!! that your first responders could have been targeted by someone less generally ~well-meaning than a hippie with poor decision making skills!! but taylor was inexperienced and too caught up in the pressure of her big break (and likely carries a certain level of disdain for men in authoritative positions after the whole Schrodingers Murderer Father situation of her youth) and went about it the entirely wrong way.

and what's soooo awesome is that she does not learn that lesson.

she experiences this severe trauma as a teenager, loses any sense of stability she had, dedicates her life to The Truth, and goes so full tilt towards accomplishing that goal of telling it that she can't get out of her own way.

she watched her whole life turn into a tabloid-y bullshit true crime special with the way her community treated her after her mother's death and it determined how she would tell stories for the rest of her life!! god i miss her....

#I love Taylor Kelly with my entire heart actually and that they couldn't have broken off the relationship as friends #So that she could come back a few times per season to cause and solve chaos was a missed opportunity #If she actually learned the lesson above she would have been such a card to play during the councilwoman Ortiz arc #And not to mention the season 9 ICE-Trafficker-mafia plotline #So useful #And fun #Also she was pretty which is cause enough to have her grace my screen every now and then #9-1-1 on abc
