Delusions of Midday Moon

to be fair i think they do this with every looper (including himself) but i'm really found of aus were Odile is the one to loop so i'll talk about it here (if you recognize some things we probably read the same fanfic = 3 )

but yes the ones in the rooftop are frustrating, but i think it's the atempt in the middle of the night that would make Odile really crazy

like, it's not easy to sleep after everthing that happened, and she is already properly sleeping less and less with the amount of loops she spends in the house

so being waken up after she finally manage to fall asleep, repeatedly? yeah she is pissed, the worst part is that he never, NEVER manages to actually say it, being woken up by this useless failed atempt is infuriating

it would be hilarious if one night she just said "fuck it" and got up, everyone panicking thinking she will make the fury of gods rain on them

and she just drags Suffrin out of the bed, Isabeau tries to protest but Odile gives him a glare "you lost your Siffrin privileges"

Odile and Siffrin share a bed that night, is awkward as hell, but finally doing something about it makes Odile mega satisfied, enough to close her eyes for a few hours

then an idea hits her "if Siffrin doesn't share a bed with Isabeau, there will be no midnight talk", expressions Odile feels so stupid, it was so obvious

tho she can't change the bed arrangements so easily, Bonnie refuses to share the bed with either Siffrin or Isabeau, and Odile would rather not get kicked by the child in her sleep

so she reluctantly gives up her privilege of a bed all to herself, and ask Siffrin to share with her, after some surprised questions he just acepts, Odile does not like the fact that it was probably because she looked as tired as she felt

Isabeau protested a little, but some little teasing aluding to his crush was enough for him to back down

and okay... sharing a bed is pretty unconfortable actually, but, it's a new kind of unconfortable so it's...good? new at least, Odile at least manages to ignore it enough to finally get some good, ininterrupted sleep

she wakes up feeling well rested, and cold, Siffrin did steal the blankets just like Isabeau warned her, but she was too relieved to care, she hadn't feel that good in well... Odile would rather not think about it

it just becomes part of the routine, Odile gets used to Siffrin's presence, until it begins to feel natural, i imagine it's also good because Siffrin is probably the one who died the most, so knowing he is safe would do wonders to her nightmares (no one would be able to do anything if he is so close to Odile)

after all, Ace was the first to not want to wake up, depite knowing it was a dream, he liked the idea of having an easy life wwere he can get eveything he wants and wouldn't have to say a permanent goodbye to Yuu, and Ace didn't really thought there would be much of a differece if they all lived their whole life in a dream

he basically agreed with the whole philosophy of overbloted Malleus, and while he wouldn't like the coments about himself ("if Malleus chose to be alone that's his problem" "you are saying we, victmins, need to fight to help the poor jerk that did this to us?") he would have to admit Ace was also right about it, Malleus chose this destiny himself

i can see Malleus waiting to see what happens, with a little hope that Ace can make his friends see "reason" and agree to stay

then, when that doesn't work, he shows up just before Ace can wake up, after all, it's natural that a king would come to help one of his "loyal subjects"

but Ace would never stand to see someone hurting his friends, so even thought he is afraid, he would help them to fight malleus, try to help them run from Malleus

and in the end, i think he would sacrifice himself so they could all escape, he would tell his plan to Leona, since he can see he is the less emotional there, and Ace would go to distract Malleus, to give Silver time to use Meet in a Dream

Ace would use his acting skills to apeal to Malleus, promise to stay there, after all this world is perfect for him, and would even say that Malleus is invited to his vacation, after all, working for everyone like that would be lonely, it's only fair the king gets to enjoy too

Leona takes the plan to get everyone together and tell Silver to use his UM, they will have to abandon Ace after all, Grim, Yuu, Deuce and Cater have to be draged there kicking and screaming, wih Leona screaming back, it was Ace's choice, they shoudn't waste his sacrifice

they disapear, Ace's friends screaming his name and trying to reach him until the last second

and Ace is left alone with Malleus, who is a little disapointed, but honestly, when he noticed what was happening, he didn't really try to stop them

after all his priority right now is to help the subject who stayed with him, who agreed that his bleesing was a gift and invited Malleus to participate in his ideal world as well, his poor subject who is trembling

of course all this fight scared him, he wouldn't be able to go back to sleep peacefully like this

he saw Ace's darkness trying to console him, like he was a lost little child, and reminded of what Lilia used to do help Silver and Sebek when they were scared of the storms

Malleus made Ace rest in his lap, singing the same lullaby as Lilia used to

Ace was internally panicking, but the darkness was making him tired, Malleus's voice was making him tired

"you... are going... to want a flower shirt...too...?" he mumbled, the image was so absurd he giggled a little

Malleus spoke quietly "i know you are trying to distract me"

Ace's heart sank

"don't worry child, you won't be in trouble" Malleus ran his fingers ran throught the ginger's hair, it was cold, and stained the strands with blot "you know, we are very alike, you and i"

"we both just wish for the ones we love to stay by our side"

"the child of man really has a good friend" Malleus left a small laugh, it sounded a little maniacal "you could have anything, everthing you have ever wanted, but all you did was to solve your friend's problems, to make them happy..."

"don't worry child, soon i'll make them happy too, forever, like we both wish"

tears left Ace's eyes, he weakly grabed Malleus's cape

"please don't ....hurt them, Yuu... likes you so... you can't be all bad... so please... don't...."

Malleus softly shushed Ace

"i won't, don't worry, soon they will see the truth of my blessing"

darkness aglomerated around Ace, reassuring him, conforting him, Deuce put a hand to his shoulder

"Now we can have a blast this sumer"

"yes! don't be a crybaby Ace, we will have the biggest barbecue you have ever seen here!" Grim jumped and rested on his chest

"don't worry Ace" Yuu... held his hand..." we are safe, right here by your side, i can't wait to show my home to you guys!"

Ace weakly looked at Malleus

"you... promissed... to stay... here... too..."

"i will hapilly make you all company, for eternity"

Ace closed his eyes, a single tear running down his face.

especifically if he remembered it all, and after the whole crisis and comparing their jealous and obssesion for beauty with his own, he noticed how coincidentaly she (he separates himself from the queen) "took care" of snow white and Rapunzel

could she even be called a mother ? they weren't her actual children and what she did definetelly wasn't adoption, she tried to kill one child out of jealousy and then kidnaped the other just to use her, she was messed up

then just as Vil is considering if he should even have a child knowing what she did, Epel comes to ask him something

and Vil notices "damnit, it's too late the child is already here"

Stardust was one of my favorites movies while i was growing up, and i think it would match isat so much! so i made this au!

Siffrin here is a fallen star

What you need to know about stars from Stardust:

when a star falls from the sky they assume a human form

the happier a star is, the more they glow, and this light can reach a point were it can burn down evil

the heart of a star is especial, if someone eats a star's heart they will be rejuvenated and their life span will be expanded, one can live thousands of years with a star heart, to the point of almost becoming imortal

Also in this au i imagine a star heart is an insanely powerful fuel for wish craft, you could literally bend reallity with it

Here Siffrin was a star that watched over the island, one day he saw a mischievous child running away using their family boat, he decided to match their spirit and followed the child, becoming the shoting star for their wish (to not eat vegetables for dinner)

But while he was doing that, the event that erased the island happened, and the shock was so violent it made Siffrin fall from the sky

They woke up in a forest, zero memories, only having their silver cloak (because in the movie all the stars used silver dresses)

He lived pretty much like like the original Siffrin, until he had the misfortune of running into a witch from the island, an old lady, they talked a little, just chilling together, she had forgoten a lot but still retained a lot of knowledge

And seeing Siffrin glowing from happines made her remember about stars, about the power their hearts have, she offered Siffrin a place to stay, gave him a nice meal, made them confortable

Then tried to kill him on his sleep, Siffrin was lucky to wake up and be able to kill her, after a huge fight, and she told him, about how she knew he was a star since he begined to glow, and how she planed to rip his heart out of his chest and eat it so she could be young again

Siffrin got some heavy trust issues after that, he didn't know what exatcly being a star meant (memory issues and the witch was too maniac to explain), but the thought people will try to rip his heart out, to eat it, it terrifies him.

He tries to hide his glow as much as he can after that, painted his hair black, got a bigger hat, and lived pretty aimless

this is based on what a youtuber theorized after he saw Siffrin's first death "oh so that's why he is so good at dealing with traps, he keeps dying and trying again until they can beat them and to the group is like he did it first try"

and that would be such a good au, i think it would mess Siffrin up so much, he would go through the whole jorney not telling them, feeling that he is awful at his job, that his is only worthy when they're being useful to the group, that this is the only reason they keep him around

and this would probably warp his perception of permanent consequences, so when he jumps to protect Bonnie from the sadness, and instead of just dying again, he wakes up with a lost eye, this really surprises him

by the time they reach dormont Siffrin might be so desensibilized to it all that they don't even mind anything, until they reach like, 20 loops after reaching the head housemaiden, Siffrin is so used to it that he assumed this would be another one of those times that they would stay stuck because of a stupid condition that he needed to discover and fulfill

then they notice.... he wished to do something after this (like wear the clothes Isabeau made, any of the initial opitions in the game), but the loops end before Siffrin can do that, even if he asks them to go do it later.... and this is he first time he feels truly stuck in the loops

as for how they would even be able to loop before dormont

Siffrin discover about favor threes much earlier, and wishes for everything to go well on their first mission together, for the group safety (he wishes that he can show he can be useful for them)

and despite Siffrin's determination, maybe the comfort the wish brought made them careless, because he triggers a simple arrow trap, and he is too slow to dodge.....

and them they come back, to a few hours before.

Siffrin redoes the the next hours until he beats the trap, seemingly effortlessly

after that everytime they will have a potentially dangerous mission Siffrin wishes for something, usually their safety, and this aways has something else, and if that something else isn't fullfiled then the loop is trigered

for example, Siffrin wants to watch a play on the city with Odile later, if after the mission they don't go watch it then Siffrin goes back to before the mission

but i can't help to imagine it would be funny to do the inverse, Yuu going to devildom after chapter 7, begining with the "oh shit... godamnit here we go again"

at first having the same atittude from the lost in the books events, thinking they will just have to find a way back to twist

then after they learn, i think they would have the biggest, most valid crash out that ever existed

after all the shit they went throught, they get taken away from everyone they got close and any support system they had in that world (again) get kidnaped (again) to a supernatural school, but have no powers (again), and are in constant danger just for being there (AGAIN!!!)

the obey me boys would not have a good time lol twist Yuu doesn't give a shit to anything anymore and after everthing they wen't throught fear basically got beaten out of them "yeah yeah enter your dark powerfull form, i have already seem that"

his dreams basically proves how much he cares about it, he wants Yuu to be happy, he doesn't want to lose his friend, but i feel that Ace is a bit in denial about the possibility of Yuu going home

during the first Mickey investigation when Deuce and Grim get sad about the idea, he just tells them to stop worrying since they don't even know if they will even find anything, and even during the dream he admited he never thought Crowley would actually find a way home for Yuu (honestly, valid, no one believes that)

and while i love the classic crash outs during the final goodbyes and the characters snapping and breaking the mirror, variety is the spice of life, and the idea of a character overblotting only after Yuu has already left has such a juicy angst potential

and i feel Ace is the best option for that, as one of Yuu's closest friend, their ride or die, who's biggest desire is for them to be happy and also stay with him, i can see ace asking what Yuu want, and whatever is the response, as much as it hurts him, he won't show it, and will do what is best for Yuu

but because of his denial, and how he doesn't allow himself to think about it, he severely underestimates how much it affects him, so the final goodbyes are said with a sad smile and some teasing

and is only after some days that it finally sinks "oh, Yuu is... gone, i'll never see them again", and their absence physically hurts, every joke or coment that he has to swallow mid sentence because the one that should listen isn't there, every second when there's an vague space, that now just feels empty, ever shared place, item, memory, the knife in his chest gets twisted more and more

everyone around can see him getting worse, Ace refuses to talk about it aside from a superficial "yeah i miss them, hey did you do your homework?", he alternates between avoiding places associated with Yuu, and desperately seeking every echo of their presence, Ace's grades get close to a failing point, he isn't even trying to pretend he cares about any resposabilty on his dorm or club

Ace still doesn't admit to himself how he regrets just letting Yuu leave, of not telling how they were important to him, of not even asking, if they would consider staying with him a little longer

after all, Yuu wanted to go home, nothing Ace could have said would change that

and one day, he finally snaps, seeing the photos Yuu took, and when thinking about each of them, Ace realizes... he... can't.... rebember.... Yuu's... voice

Ace doesn't even know how he ended up in the mirror chamber, all he can think about is about that mirror, that cursed mirror, if only this thing didn't exist, if only the option never existed.....

Ace breaks the mirror, and just laughs because.... it is just useless... it won't change anything now, he wasted all the chances he had to make any meaningfull choice

the other students find sitting on the glass shards, crying, talking to Yuu, just begging them for a response, anything, his tears turned into blot

is only when they point that out that Ace notices what is happening, but like everything else, is already too late

Ace overblots, and i think it would be so good if he died, because he is just a normal teenager, with little power, and the overblot drains his magic reserves much faster than of all the other powerfull mages who went throught it

because Yuu would have no idea about how to deal with ramshackle becoming an actual dorm, populated and all, it's basically like having to let a bunch of strangers live in the only home they have in this new world

also they would only have Grim there to help them defend themselfs and control the students, the possibility that the new students would turn on them would be terrifying

Ace gets worried, and decides to spend some days there, to help Yuu and Grim to feel better and help them while they figure out what to do

Yuu ask every housewarden and vice for some guidance on how to become a proper housewarden and take care of a dorm, and they are able to come up with basic rules for living, it helps a lot that the ramshackle students are much more chill than the average NRC student

Ace just stay there to help and sleeps on the room that was basically his since last year, while also doing his best to fulfill his duties in heartslabyul, but he has limited time and is tired, so the days he sleeps on heartslabyul becomes more and more rare

he keeps postponing the time where he will return "i can't just leave Yuu alone now" "everthing is crazy right now, maybe next week" "i need a few more days to resolve this okay?"

but after some consideration, and Deuce insisting, he has to admit that the way ramshackle works suits him much better than heartslabyul, without the nonsensical rules and all the reprehension, now that he experience a more normal routine, the control on heartslabyul feels sufocating

and also, he and the new students got attached to each other (but he will never admit it), and while he is still that easygoing troublemaker, the responsabilties made him grow a little

it's weird, it might be because he is a younger sibiling but he always prefered to let others take care of him, to have someone else deal with the bothersome problems

but for some reason, he goes to defend and help his dorm mates with no hesitation "protective", is what Yuu called him, teasing him

so after some thought, Ace decides to actually transfer to ramshackle "isn't it funny? i said i would become part of ramshackle on or second day here, but only now i actually do it"

oh, now that he doesn't have to wear the heartslabyul uniform, he would feel a little sad, the heart looked really good on him, he still wears heart themed, red acessories and eyeliner, tho now that he can, he alternates between red and darker makeup, like black or brow (tho it might be just my wishfull thinking since i think those colors look beautifull on him)

by the way, i imagine ramshackle 100% ships aceyuu, and Grim as their son (either they are romantic or platonic doesn't matter, shippers will ship)
