–“Are you sure we won’t get in trouble for this? We were supposed to be back an hour ago.”

I glance around while Harlequin holds my hand, helping me jump over a wall blocking the path to wherever he’s taking me.

I’m not even sure where we’re going—according to him it’s a "surprise". We’ve gone pretty far from the city already. Honestly, i don’t even know how we ended up all the way out here.

Everything looks a little deserted and dark. The only light right now is the moon and the distant glow of the city lights. It feels like we’re somewhere high above everything.

It’s quiet. Too quiet. Not a single person around.

I raise an eyebrow.

– “Why that face, sweetheart? Don’t you trust me? That hurts, you know…?”

The dark-haired man chuckles beneath his mask, pretending to be offended as he keeps walking toward a specific spot in the dark.

I just roll my eyes and smack his arm playfully.

– “I honestly don’t know what to expect from you. If you wanted to fuck you could’ve just said so—we could’ve gone to a hotel or something, not this freezing place.”

He squeezes my hand tighter, a mocking grin tugging at his voice. He lets out a fake sound of surprise before finally stopping near a cliff and turning to look at me with that same cynical smile.

– “Oh? Is that an invitation little kitten? Sadly for you, that’s not in my plans tonight. Though… if you want, i could mark you right here.~”

– “No thanks. Our asses are gonna freeze off, and if I get sick I’m blaming you.”

I raise one eyebrow as I look into his emerald green eyes. His pupils stand out even more in the darkness, and every time I stare too long I feel a shiver crawl down my spine.

I glance around instead, completely ignoring the previous conversation. My gaze settles on the city lights below us. The cool wind brushes against my skin. In the distance I can see the river that runs through my city—and the big bridge that connects it to another town far away.

I don’t recognize this place at all. I’m not someone who usually goes out exploring…

Though ever since I met Harlequin, we sometimes sneak away from the circus and all the crowds.

– “I didn’t know about this spot. Everything looks amazing from up here… how did you find it?”

Harlequin doesn’t answer right away. Instead, he pulls a blanket out of the backpack he brought and spreads it over the cold, damp grass. He sits down carefully, leaving an empty space beside him and patting the ground in invitation.

I nod and immediately sit down next to him.

– “I’m good at exploring abandoned places. I like having an alibi in every new place I visit.”

Harlequin adjusts his hood. He’s wearing casual clothes tonight—though the mask is still there.

I knew they weren’t..human– but I still wasn’t entirely sure what they were, or what they looked like beneath all those clothes and masks. I’ve been trying to give them time to tell me the truth themselves—both Harlequin and Pierrot.

He leans back now, more relaxed, staring at the view in front of us. It’s the first time I’ve ever seen him completely at peace.

I smile softly at that calm expression.

“I like this place… though Jester will get mad at you. And worse—at me.”

I grimace nervously. I’m still trying to earn Jester’s trust, since he clearly doesn’t trust me that much. And that makes me anxious.

– “Don’t worry dear one. If anything happens, I’ll take responsibility. It was my idea after all, wasn’t it?”

– “I promised to bring you back before midnight. I was the one who asked Jester for permission to take you out tonight… I don’t want them getting mad at you because of me.”

I stare ahead as my heart starts pounding with anxiety. My legs tremble a little.

Harlequin stays silent for a few seconds, watching me.

His long fingers slide teasingly along the side of my thigh, offering comfort in his own strange way. After the soft touch, though, his sharp nails scratch lightly against the fabric of my pants.

I squirmed.

“Ouch?? What the-”

– “Ah, yes… that’s the expression I wanted to see. So delicate and fragile. You look much prettier like that darling.

I’d love to see Pierrot’s face right now if he saw you like this.~”

I sigh in discomfort, rubbing my thigh where it stings.

Why did he have to be so rough sometimes?

I still didn’t fully understand the way they showed affection… though, unfortunately, I was already getting used to the scratches and bites.

With a sudden movement, I grab Harlequin’s wrists and push him back until he’s lying down completely. My thighs trap his hips as I end up on top of him.

His expression darkens. His eyes narrow at the sight of me above him.

He doesn’t like it when I take control, and that makes me feel a little victorious.

Unfortunately it doesn’t last long.

He’s much faster—and much stronger.

With a quick movement he flips us over, and suddenly I’m the one pinned beneath him.

“ Você é tão travessa~ Don’t provoke me if you’re just going to complain about the consequences later.”

His hands grab my wrists firmly and his gaze drops to my neck.

I just smirked, already knowing what’s coming.

He leans dangerously close to my skin. Something hot and wet trails along my neck as his tongue slowly explores every inch of my most vulnerable spot.

– “Mm… you wanted this, didn’t you? You could’ve just been honest, Mc, instead of putting on that pathetic little act.”

His teeth bite into my skin—not hard enough to draw blood, but enough to make me gasp at the sting. His teeth are sharp, but his movements are always careful, controlled.

– “What act? I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

My voice comes out shaky while I endure the bite.

Harlequin’s emerald eyes lift to meet mine. His green tongue slowly slides across his lips, tasting whatever flavor I left behind.

– “Maybe that act works on your dear Pierrot… but not on me, queridx.~ You don’t have to pretend you care about me. After all, we came here to have fun, right? So… relax and be a good toy for me, hm?”

My smile disappears instantly.

I glare at him, anger burning in my chest.

Why the hell does he think I’m playing with him?

Will he ever take me seriously?

I hate it when people doubt my feelings.

Everyone acts like I’m trying to hurt them—and I can’t understand why they’re always so defensive around me.

The only one who accepts me is Pierrot.

But Harlequin… Jester… Ticket Taker…

The Doctor?

Well… he doesn’t seem to care much about my presence.

But the others…

They make me feel like there’s something wrong with me.

– “Stop saying stupid shit and take me seriously for once!”

My voice rises, emotions spilling out.

Harlequin freezes for a second, clearly caught off guard. A laugh escapes him, which only makes me angrier.

– “I’m just joking darling, don’t get mad.~ You know I only—”

– “No! I don’t like it when you joke like that!not when I’m being honest about how I feel! Can’t you see that I care about you? That you actually matter to me? So listen to me for fucking once!”

My hands slip free and move to his face, forcing him to look at me.

Tears slide down my cheeks.

I think I’ve finally reached my limit.

I didn’t want to get to this point..to look this vulnerable.

But it hurts.

It hurts that he thinks I don’t care for him.

Harlequin goes silent.

Sweat rolls down his forehead, and for a moment his gaze flickers away from mine.

For once… he looks nervous.

– “ Oh my, you have no idea the dangerous ground you’re stepping on. If you get any closer to me, I’m afraid there’ll be no turning back for you.~”

His hand suddenly cups my cheek—gently.

Surprisingly gentle.

His face leans closer, and I see the mask open slightly around his mouth, revealing sharp teeth.

His forked tongue slides along my cheek, tasting the tears like they’re something sacred.

“If I show you what I really am… will you run? Will you scream?”

His voice sounds different now.

Almost vulnerable.

Suddenly something thin and warm slides along my thigh—like a snake moving across my skin.

My body jerks in surprise.

I try to look down, but Harlequin grabs my chin firmly, forcing my gaze back to him.

– “Are you afraid? Oh, my precious and dangerous dear… if you knew what I am, what we are beneath these costumes, I doubt you’d feel the same.~”

– “I don’t think it would change how I feel about you.”

I say it firmly.

More relaxed this time.

It’s not the first time I’ve felt those strange things moving along my body… though I’ve never actually seen what they are.

More of those warm “ropes” slide along my skin. Some slip beneath my clothes.

A shiver runs down my spine and I squirm a little—they tickle.

– “Let me see… please.”

His eyes dilate.

His breathing grows heavier as his hands tighten slightly on my face, his nails pressing into my cheeks.

One of those “ropes” coils tightly around my waist, as if afraid I might escape.

My heart races when he finally releases my face, letting my head move freely again.

–“Don’t say I didn’t warn you. But I won’t be like him—the one who sweetens your ears with lies about what he isn’t while hiding his real self. Because, oh darling… you and I are different.~”

His voice whispers into my ear.

Different…

Pierrot said the same thing once—that our worlds were different.

Jester said something similar too… that I would never truly belong to their world.

And that hurt.

A lot.

Slowly, my gaze drops toward my body lying on the ground beneath him.

It’s too dark to see clearly, but thanks to the moonlight I can figure out what’s above me.

Those… things.

Thin. Moving on their own like they’re alive.

My hands slowly grip them, feeling their strange texture.

Harlequin’s body goes tense.

I can’t see his face, but I swear he looks nervous.

My fingers trace the smooth, warm surface carefully.

I have no idea what the hell is happening—whether this is some kind of joke, or if this really is part of him.

Suddenly one of his tentacles—if that’s what they are—grabs my wrists and pins them above my head faster than I can even react.

His breathing is ragged now, and I can feel his hips grinding against my pants, making me gasp softly.

– "Sometimes I wonder if you hit your head on something. You’re very strange dear one..

I’d like to show you more… but not yet. Let’s keep playing this little game a bit longer, hm? Isn’t it more fun that way? I’ll let you see just a little of me tonight.~ ”

– “what about the mask?”

Harlequin laughs.

His smile is wider now, but his eyes are soft—almost enchanting.

The cold silicone of his mask brushes against my lips in an indirect kiss.

In any case, I have a massive pile of sketches, and sooner or later, I’ll transfer all of them into digital format.

Bernardine – @delfaaaaaa – Я вот сижу и рисую ее, хоть мы и говорили об этом частично (?) что она довольная нежная и пугливая. Потому она бы ходила бы за Синдер хвостиком. Пффф... (И тут у меня представилась сцена где Синдер под напором эмоции ее могла бы ударить, сильно причем так... Ссс... Пупупу 🚬)
