“Why is everyone cursing in front of Pearl? More importantly, I WANNA DO IT!” Onyx cheered, grinning widely.
“Onyx, I don’t suggest it. Pearl seems to be grounding everyone who does.” Teal Zircon pointed out, lowering the book they were reading.
“I’m gonna do it anyway!”
“ONYX, DON’T YOU DARE-“
“FUCK!”
“ONYX WHY?!”
Opalescent sighed as she turned back to the window that she had been looking out of. “You’re children, both of you.” She sighed.

The Art Of Respect // Closed RP
It had been a year or so after Steven reconciled with Blue Diamond, Yellow Diamond, and White Diamond. Teal Zircon had hidden on Earth while everyone else went back to Homeworld, and they thought that they were a coward for it. However, during their stay on Earth since they escaped Homeworld after Steven’s “trial”, they had gotten to know Snowflake Obsidian, or Snow, very well.
They were currently headed to find Snow, hoping that the gem could give them advice on how to deal with their fear of White Diamond.
“Snow? I uh, I need to ask you a question.” Teal Zircon asked, their hand coming up to run through their hair as a nervous habit.
@singer-snowflake
Snow had made amends with the Diamonds after all these long centuries... finally. She never thought she would but after helping Steven fight them it had all worked out.
Now she spent most of her time making trinkets of Pearl, Jasper and Pink again, just as she used to on Homeworld in her free time.
Snow was working on one when Teal Zircon had come in and called her name, causing her to look at the other lawyer gem from the corner of her eye as she blew flames into her furnace. Once she was done she turned to finally greet Teal properly, standing up straight and reforming her hands back to almost-normal. "Hey Teal, what's up?" She asked casually.
“How did you come to amends with the Diamonds? I stayed here while everyone else went to Homeworld, and I feel like a coward. I’m still terrified of White Diamond after all these years, and I don’t know how to deal with it.” Teal explained, their eyes darting around the room to avoid the unknown expression on their friend’s face.
“It just feels like I could’ve done something, but I stayed back like a coward.” They sighed softly.
"After the fight we all healed the corrupted gems together and I got to finally talk to them about everything and all the bad feelings I had bottled up since Pink..." Snow explained. "I guess you just need to talk to her. I can go with you if you want...." Snow offered with a small smile.
“I’d appreciate that a lot. I just want to tell her how she made me feel. It took a long time for me to figure out that my existence wasn’t a mistake, but White made me feel like I was a mistake. I’m so angry at her, but I’m angry at myself at the same time for not confronting her.” Teal sighed, their eyes finally dropping to the floor.
“I just can’t go on like this. I can’t go on with feeling like a coward. I just want to be strong.” They added, a forlorn expression on their face.
Snow showed the shards that were always catching light and sparkling as she moved around. "I know that feeling too. Come on, I can take you to the galaxy warp since its fixed now." Snow offered her hand to Teal before forming her wings.
Teal took her hand and smiled, their freckled cheeks darkening.
“Thank you for this Snow. I hope it will help.” They smiled softly.
Snow tilted her head a little when she noticed Teal blushing. Her wings twitched a little before quivering a little. She lead Teal out to the front before kneeling. "Come on, get on my back and we can just fly to Homeworld instead. I can fly through space just like Lapis."
“That’s really cool!” Teal grinned, climbing gently onto Snow’s back and holding on.
Teal was a naturally skittish and embarrassed gem because of their past, and they would often blush in embarrassment over things that really didn’t call for embarrassment. They hoped that by talking to White Diamond, their trouble would be gone and they could be strong like a Zircon should be. Teal didn’t even know if they had a weapon for star’s sake! They just wanted to be like any other gem, strong and useful in battle.
Snow flew them to the warp and went with Teal to Homeworld before phasing into her updated Homeworld uniform which bore the traditional Diamond symbol, but half for Pink and half for Yellow and Blue.
"I promised I would wear my uniform when I'm here so I don't alarm the other gems... at least until all the new Era 3 changes are in place."
“I don’t think anyone will be alarmed by my presence, but the gems that remember me will talk.” Teal sighed, their eye looking around behind their monocle that instinctively appeared when they arrived on Homeworld. “That’s okay though, let them talk. I’m hoping that I don’t have to go through Blue or Yellow to talk to White, but they might all be there. I don’t care, I just need to talk to White about what she did.” They said, their posture straightening as they proudly displayed their Crystal Gem Star on their choker.
Snow shrugged. "Yellow and Blue aren't that hard for me to talk to." She said with a grin. "Let me take care of it for you."
“If you’re sure. I know you used to serve them before everything, judging by your uniform.” Teal smiled softly, pulling a screen from their monocle that showed a split diamond symbol. One half was pink, the other was blue. “After Pink saves my life, I served her until she faked her death. After that, I served Blue Diamond until I escaped with Steven after his trial.” They spoke, gently pushing the screen up and watching it disappear.
Snow was surprised that Teal was another multi-court gem. "Yellow made me for Pink before she had Earth, but I also helped Blue sometimes with her emotions. My gem type are great for helping with emotional gems but I also had recycled shards added to my kindergarten before I emerged." Snow explained. "Sapphires, Lapis Lazulis, Rubies and a few different types of Quartz. It made me stronger and I was able to go on missions with Yellow's quarts soldiers sometimes when she needed my help." Snow smiled a little. She was always proud of her prowess in battle.
“Have I ever told you about my history? How I got my scar?” Teal asked curiously, looking over to Snow. “I don’t remember telling you, but I don’t mind telling the story if you haven’t heard it.” She spoke, looking around Homeworld with hints of nostalgia and dread in her eyes.

Dream
Another night, another “dream”. Pearl had no idea what was going on in the dream, though she could guess by the music being played. It was Rose and Greg, sitting in the temple and singing together while Rose had her hand on her bump. She was about 8 months pregnant there. Pearl didn’t want to lose Rose. She loved Rose! Why couldn’t he see that?! Why couldn’t SHE see that?!As quickly as that scene arrived, it was gone, replaced by a crying newborn Steven in his crib. Pearl didn’t want to see Steven. He was the reason Rose left.Suddenly, she began thrashing about in the real world as she was subjected to her darkest horrors of her mind. She couldn’t help the pathetic whimpers that spewed from her mouth at the dreams. The same dream, every day for a little over one thousand and fourteen years. She eventually woke up to nothingness, sighing as she sat up in the bed she made in her room to try and sleep, like every night. She sighed once more, putting her head in her hands.
“I shouldn’t miss her…but I do.”
Snow, partially shape-shifted into a tiny dragon form, was there in the bed as well, dead asleep with an odd expression set into her features. It looked like a mix of worry and irritation. An ear flickered a few times before she grumbled something that could barely be heard, stretching like a cat on her side. Snow clawed fingers even splayed wide before lazily pawing for Pearl, trying to find where she had gone so Snow could hold her.
Pearl jumped in shock as she felt Snow against her, but smoothed her fingers over Snow’s dragon form as she slowly calmed down from her dream. “I’m okay Snow, shhh…” She mumbled, sighing softly as she laid back and stared at the ceiling. She couldn’t fall back asleep, she didn’t want to.
Snow’s voice just vibrated through the space as a low, satisfied hiss. She relaxed, but opened her eyes a few minutes later to realize she was partially shifted again. “Great. I’m going to be stuck like this all day…” she grumbled. She looked to see that Pearl was awake now and carefully withdrew her spiky arms from around her before sitting up next to her.
Pearl absentmindedly curled around Snow’s legs, sniffling softly. She hadn’t realized Snow was awake. She was upset, and Snow was the only one with her. The others were away on a time sensitive mission, and Steven was with Greg. Pearl had dreamed again, and it was the sayas every time she tried to sleep. She was tired of it, she didn’t want to dream it anymore.
Without realizing it, Pearl had went from sniffing to crying and from crying to sobbing, all while trying to be quiet as to not wake Snow. In Pearl’s mind, Snow was still asleep.
Snow got up and quickly moved to hold Pearl, wrapping the thin gem in her arms and singing softly for her. “I’m here Pearl I’m here for you.” She softly murmured to her love.
Pearl wipes her eyes and openly sobbed into Snow’s shoulder, wrapping her thin arms around the other.
“I had the dream again. I just want to stop dreaming about it. Why can’t I stop dreaming about it?” She asked through sobs and hiccups, normally bright blue eyes dull with sadness and anguish.
Snow frowned a little and held Pearl close, rubbing her back gently. “I don’t know darling… maybe we should take a break from sleeping for a while…”
Pearl nodded, still clinging to the other gem. She didn’t want to speak at the moment, not trusting her mind to stay away from her nightmares. She just wanted the warmth that Snow gave out, and Pearl would cling to Snow until the other forced her off.
Snow blushed softly when Pearl clung to her like this but she held the thin gem. She loved Pearl so much and felt so bad for her that she still had dreams like that about Rose even after all this time. “I’m right here and I’m not leaving you. Not ever.”
“Thank you Snow. Thank you.” Pearl sniffled, pulling back to wipe her eyes once more. “I’m sorry, I got your shoulder wet with my tears.” She apologized, grabbing a tissue from her gem and wiping her eyes since using her hands didn’t work.
Snow shook her head and used her hand to dey herself with heat. “It’s ok. You’re upset, its ok to cry about it when you need to.” Snow spoke softly before looking off to the side as she thought about Pink again.
“I hate when I dream about her. I won’t lie, I loved her, but now I’m just angry. She got what she wanted, but at the cost of losing her own life. It’s just like the secrets I had to keep, I hate it so much.” Pearl spoke, a hint of anger and disgust in her voice. She was angry at Rose, sure, but she was more disgusted with herself about not being able to speak about what she had to keep secret for thousands of years.
Snow felt a pang in her heart. “I’m mad at her too… she turned her back on us just to run from the Authority… she made Blue and Yellow sit for thousands of years in agony… She left you for Greg and she buried me… Its not fair and it still hurts like hell. But we wouldn’t have Earth, Era 3 or Steven without all that… we wouldn’t be together either if it wasn’t for her rebellion.” Snow obviously had mixed feelings about what had happened but she learned to deal with it and accept it a long time ago.
“I know, that’s true. I’m still trying to move on, and it’s a hard process. I just want to be with you for that process if you’ll have me. I know we’re already together, but that’s just how I feel.” Pearl smiled softly, gently placing her hand on Snow’s cheek. “Steven is one of the best things to happen to me, and my life here has been the best life I could ask for.” She added, her gem glowing with happiness at the memories going through her head.
Snow nodded. “Of course I’ll be with you. Jasper will too. I’m never going to leave you Pearl, we gotta be there for each other. Jasper is still coming to terms with Pink being Rose and all that too so all three of us can love and support each other. We are stronger together.” Snow smiled warmly at Pearl and gently laced her fingers with Pearl’s.
She had an idea then. “Why don’t we fuse and go for a flight? Hopefully Yellow isn’t here visiting Steven again so she doesn’t yell at us again.”
Pearl smiled softly at the mention of fusing, her gem already beginning to glow.
“I’d like that very much. I don’t care if she yells at us, we are our own gems and we can do what we please.” She smiled, laying her head on Snow’s shoulder.

“Uh oh, wrong drink.” -Teal Zircon
Snow looked at the strange bottle in Teal's hand, then at Teal before realizing what had happened. It was an artifact love potion that she had picked up during a mission.... and Teal Zircon just drank the whole thing.
"Teal? Are... are you ok?" She asked, carefully approaching her friend.
“I...I think so? I don’t know what I drank, but I feel...warm and fuzzy?” The off-color lawyer gem said, their eyes landing on Snow.
“W-Wow...have you always been this pretty..?” They spoke, their light blue eyes widening and hearts appearing in their eyes. “You’re super pretty Snow, how has no one told you this yet?” They smiled shyly.
Snow's eyes widened a little bit and her cheeks went a bright orange. "W-well Pearl and Jasper tell me all the time but I never really t-thought so..." Snow answered truthfully. She ended up backing up slightly, tripping and falling back onto her bed.
Teal Zircon smiled as they sat next to Snow, a dark blush appearing on their freckled cheeks. “You are very pretty Snow! Whoa, whatever I drank, it’s making me feel attraction towards you? The humans call it “love”?” Teal said, trying to snap themselves out of their cuddly and complimentary state. They felt attraction towards Snow, that was true even before this...potion, but Teal kept it to themselves because of the fact that both Jasper and Pearl liked Snow too.
“Ugh, I shouldn’t be feeling this way. I’m sorry Snow, I’m trying not to run with my thoughts.” Teal said, covering their face out of not only shame, but to keep Snow from seeing the truth in their eyes.
Snow looked at Teal and listened to what she was saying. She was even trying to fight the potion. Snow blushed even more deeply as she felt Teal's true feelings through her aura powers. "Oh Teal..." She murmured softly before standing up and hugging the Zircon. "It's ok.... You don't have to hide from me."
Teal uncovered their face as they were hugged, an even darker blush appearing on their cheeks.
“I don’t...? Are...are you sure?” Teal asked, now suddenly very nervous. They returned Snow’s hug, gently kissing the other’s cheek. “If you’re sure, I don’t want t-to overstep a boundary.”
Snow just smiled softly. "Yeah I'm sure. I've never been good at taking hints when someone likes me..." She chuckled softly before kissing Teal's cheek.
Teal blushed happily, gently burrowing themselves into Snow.
“Honestly, I thought you were with Pearl or Jasper. I didn’t say anything or show my feelings because I thought that they were better for you. Plus, I haven’t known you for as long as they have.” Teal spoke, a bit embarrassed and flustered.

@singer-snowflake
