Day summary
The day before Sal Herrera created an a post with an image of the Cap 10K course, and a general description of the Cap 10K.
Herrera arrived at the Cap 10K at 6:45 a.m. He started asking people what word they would use to describe the day. He later compiled what those people said and the compilation of other sounds to create a sound bite of the day. Herrera noticed a cross country coach leading his team in a warm up. Herrera interviewed the coach and wrote up a short blog post based on the coaches statements. Through out the day Herrera would post updates about the Lake City cross country team, including a post race commentary by the team. Herrera tweeted through out the day. Herrera captured interesting and visually appealing moments to post on Tumblr and Twitter through out the day. Herrera left the course at 11:45 a.m. When he got home he compiled a storify of the multiple tweets posted throughout the day. Herrera compiled the sounds he recorded and created a sound bite.
Emanuela Schneider arrived at the Cap10 k at 7:30. She started filming the beginning of the race, including shots of children running. She met up with Herrera, where they both captured interesting moments, live tweeted and posted on Tumblr. She interviewed a runner in a costume, took many pictures and shot a couple of short videos of the race. Emanuela left around 10 a.m.
Kathrine McBee arrived at the Cap 10k around 7:30am. She drove location to location throughout the race to capture different aspects of the race via Twitter, Snapchat and photo documentation. After interacting with staff members, including Texas State Troopers, Kate got content on the event from a fresh perspective, even talked to Troopers who had been working the event that had help direct her through the road closures later in the afternoon on their lunch break at Torchy’s. Kathrine sent in content to Forrest through groupme including many photos, snapchat videos and tweets. Kathrine left the event around 11am in order to download and share photos from her camera.
Forrest Milburn was the editor, so he was not present at the actual Cap 10k race. He posted material/ blog posts from reporters, edited posts for content, sent out tweets from posts and was active on Twitter interacting with not only our own group’s tweets, but also tweets from on the #Cap10k hashtag and from other groups. Also coordinated with members through GroupMe and email.
