Peril, the final postcard game from @WorldChampGameCo that I own, is a three-player story game about gods and cataclysms. Each player embodies a god and proposes a solution to the peril, which is then voted on. A complication: the gods have complicated relationships that make a simple vote no easy task. Once three potential solutions have been put forth, the one with the most votes wins. If no consensus can be reached, the Peril wins.
Exceedingly simple while being endlessly complex.
As with the other two postcard games, Peril is available in the World Champ Game Co web store, link in his Insta bio.
Proof that there is a GURPS sourcebook for everything: here’s the one for The Prisoner.
The Prisoner was a short-lived 1968 British TV show starring Patrick McGoohan about a secret agent kidnapped and forced to live in a bizarre village that is part resort town, part prison, part psychedelic fun house. It’s a cult classic thanks to its weirdness and its counter culture themes and you should check it out if you haven’t already. If nothing else, you’re probably familiar with the line, “I am not a number, I am a free man!” especially if you’re familiar with Iron Maiden’s song “The Prisoner.”
Running a paranoid campaign in the Village, a place of constant surveillance and weird science, (which, incidentally is the topic of another Maiden song, “Back in the Village”) is an intriguing idea. This book makes an honest go of it, but I find it a bit thinner than I like. While details of life in the Village, painstakingly mined from the TV show, are welcome, I would have liked a lot more suggestions on how to make the game a serious head-trip for players without rehashing the events of the show. As it stands, I came away with a better understanding of the show, but not a lot of confidence I could run a game based on it.
That said, this is a loving re-examination of the show. Published in 1989, well before the internet, when tracking down even a single episode of The Prisoner took a great deal of effort, this is was a welcome resource for fans of the show (it even contains a handy episode guide with thorough synopses). So, great RPG supplement? Maybe not. Great book for a fan of The Prisoner? Definitely.

Finally got to play "Grand Austria Hotel" tonight. Even played twice. Won both times. First time by a huge margin, second time by 2 points.

A memorable color signature can really help a game stand out. Like any design decision, color should always point towards the story or experience you think will engage the audience. I always want to find colors that are unexpected and complex, but functional and serve the story and setting.
I so love the artwork of Campy Creatures. Glad to see this interview with the artist.

My absolute favourite thing about watching comedians tear the shit out of Monopoly is that it was designed to be an over the top hellhole that exemplifies the worst parts of capitalism, intended to incite rage in people and help them recognize how fundamentally unfair this system is. And it did they by going to the maximum extremes that the creator could think of at the time.
And those maximum extremes she came up with?
Fucking nuked into extrasolar orbit by whatever the fuck is going on in actual real life right now, to the extent that monopoly just looks like…… a reflection of the actual world, rather than an exaggeration of anything.
Anyway, destroy capitalism, but until then if you make a consequence deck I would probably buy it just to see what’s in there.

Finally finished Feudum. 3rd play, 1st two got cut short. Brain is burned.
Finally got Dreamwell to the table this past weekend. Pulsar 2849 is fantastic. Village got back to the table.
Geisha, Dragons, and Ceramics. Hanamikoji, Tao Long: The Way of the Dragon, and Azul.
Feudum, huge, beautiful, and much to lean. Like it so far.

So cool.
Oh and “I love Board Games for all the great people they allow me to meet and feel socially comfortable around.”
Finally completed my custom player tokens for Dreamwell. I have two of each, but just wanted a photo comparing mine with the original.
