hey y’all — my activity’s been pretty low as is these last few months, but i’m officially putting this blog on an indefinite hiatus until further notice.
tl;dr i may come online & post on a whim here and there, but rp will likely be just as sparse as it has been lately. i’ll post an explanation under the cut for those who care to know the details.

among other reasons, the sheer inconvenience has finally outweighed my desire to log in and write. my laptop is old (the trackpad/several keys are broken + the fan yells at me when i have several programs open) and a pain in the ass to use (the resolution is weird, making photoshop virtually impossible to read unless i fuck w the graphics settings, and i have to use a mouse bc of the aforementioned broken trackpad), so i almost exclusively use my ipad for rpg prep and everyday things -- and, naturally, the ipad app is just as useless as the regular mobile app for rp purposes.
i’ve also been focusing a lot on my work lately and applying for new jobs, and i’ve been putting a lot of my free time and energy into running and playing rpgs w folks online which, coupled with long bouts of writer’s block, haven’t rly allowed for much time, let alone energy, to put into this blog.
depending on whether or not i get a new job soon (fingers crossed, im waiting to hear back from one & the interview/follow-up were rly promising!), i may have to think about investing in a new laptop, which would definitely be a gamechanger - for a number of reasons!
anyway, i rly enjoy the privacy and convenience of discord rp, and would love to keep developing my characters & their relationships on there until that day comes!!

jamie’s quirk of wearing their shades indoors often works in their favor in times like these, since their eyes are still pretty bloodshot behind the nearly-opaque lenses. but even if cameron weren’t close enough to see jamie do one of their signature eye rolls, it’s by the tone of their voice when they reply, “oh come on, you know what i mean — us going out together like this isn’t the same as going out.”

I love having a direction/goal to work the characters towards – when I write fiction on my own, I like having goals and plot points, like romances, family and friend relationships, rivals and enemies.. why wouldn’t I like having the same with RP? RP is just collaborative fiction writing!
There’s no shame in liking ships, or even RPing for ships. There’s tons of people in the world who love to read romance novels, and no one tries to tell them that’s wrong or worse than liking mysteries, or fantasy adventure. Neither preference is wrong, it’s just that – a preference!
