CLAIMING RHAAST WAS NEVER MEANT TO BE AN ACT OF BETRAYAL— it was meant to be proof. Shieda Kayn had followed Zed without question, not only out of loyalty, but out of something dangerously close to LOVE. The boy had been a stray long before his future master found him: Noxian-born, war-forged, and left behind like a damaged tool— his near WORTHLESS ability already realized. But Zed saw the fire still burning in him and called it potential. He gave Kayn a path, a name, a reason. But no amount of obedience could scrub the bloodstains of his ORIGIN. The other acolytes saw him as foreign steel— sharpened, yes, but not forged in Ionia’s flame. To them, he was a weapon with no master, a DOG left to gnaw at scraps of respect. So he went to find something undeniable; something that would finally make them SEE.

He almost turned back. ALMOST. Kayn has mastered fear, used it as a weapon like none had mastered before. He didn’t want Zed to fear what he was becoming— he wanted him to recognize it, to respect it, to CLAIM it. His loyalty was filthy and clawed, the kind that bites through chains instead of wearing them. He wanted Zed to stand beside him, not above him. He wanted to be his SHADOW, not his mistake. And in that want, he still felt like a child in the dark, desperate for a father’s approval. He told himself this wasn’t disobedience. It was ascension. That Zed would understand— no, HAD TO understand. And if the Order couldn’t accept that, he’d carve a place for himself in blood....

But deep down, he wondered if what he really wanted wasn't power, or even respect— maybe it was for Zed to finally say, you are mine. Not as a tool, nor a WEAPON. But as a son. Together, they could bring ORDER and BALANCE— not just to Ionia or Noxus, but to all of Runeterra. At least, that's what he believed.
