The best part is I’ll look at a book and go hmmm idk it has 300 pages this is going to take days. And then I read a fanfic just as long in like one night.

Please please please 🙏 help me find this fic I came across it, read the summery but I didn't read it thoroughly and them I accidentally removed the tab 😭
It was a billy hargrove/Steve Harrington fic and I think it was either rated mature or explicit I don't remember shit... From what I can remember from the summery billy struggled financially and wasn't wearing winter appropriate clothes because he didn't have any/couldn't afford it and I think there was mention of jacket..? Idk I can't sorry
And Ig Steve was about help him with that... I mean of course why wouldn't he
Ooh. Try your browser or AO3 history OP (the history sometimes takes a few moments to update). If none of that works, the filters+search is your friend. Try to remember what the word count might have been to narrow the range and any other details (you can use the “search results” field to search through the summary text instead of the tags).
There’s several of the “Billy only has summer clothes so Steve offers his winter ones” fics if I remember right. I probably read the one you stumbled upon but there’s no way for me to find it even through my history.
Hope you find it!
Some of you guys have never burned a CD and it shows
Some of you guys don't even realise I don't mean setting a CD on fire
sometimes i wonder if we have forgotten that sharing creative work is, fundamentally, a bid for human connection. like I'm not posting art or fic for 'engagement' i'm posting it looking for other sickos to play with! i'd be making it anyway for my own gratification because there's something wrong with me, i'm sharing it hoping we can have something wrong with us together <3
Finished the book! I can switch to some shorter ones now.
Hello friends we need to talk about this twitter account:
You might know him from a thread where he was getting wowed by free appetisers in a Mexican restaurant.
Firstly: He is doing a bit pretending to be a wandering samurai. It's a joke and his posts are all made up. This is very obvious if you actually look at his account and website:
He does purport to be Japanese but based on some of the other content he posts there's reason to believe he's British.
Which brings me to my second point: his Samurai content is interspersed with posts like this:
And this:
He is not cute or funny. Stop platforming him.
The chips and salsa thread went viral in June and his website seems to have gone live in July. This confirms what I suspected which is that said website with it's explicit disclaimers was made in response to the big viral hit.
Consequently, back when he first blew up it was potentially a bit harder to figure out that his stories are fictional. That said, the New York Times worked it out so I'm comfortable accusing outlets who ran the story describing him as a Japanese world cup tourist of legitimately terrible journalism.
Regarding some comments in the notes:
Yeah this is also the guy from the truck thread going around. That's what prompted this post and in retrospect I should have said so explicitly.
He claims he just uses AI to translate his posts from Japanese. He also says the art on his website isn't AI generated. I think he is full of shit on both counts.
I only gave a couple of examples but even on a brief look through his twitter it was apparent that he posts a LOT about UK politics to the point where he's quite patently British. He is a Restore supporter which is a party that split away from mainstream far right party Reform due to feeling they weren't right wing enough.
It might not surprise you to hear he does not seem to know shit about Japan? Both the salsa story and the truck story failed the smell test for people who are familiar with Japan. There's also a story about going to a potluck where he seemingly couldn't come up with a single Japanese dish for the character to cook??
Yeah his whole bit is racist and it is troubling that so many people took a guy badly roleplaying as a medieval samurai to be a 21st century Japanese tourist.

the productivity creatures
I don't know I'm not done talking about it. It's insane that I can't just uninstall Edge or Copilot. That websites require my phone number to sign up. That people share their contacts to find their friends on social media.
I wouldn't use an adblocker if ads were just banners on the side funding a website I enjoy using and want to support. Ads pop up invasively and fill my whole screen, I misclick and get warped away to another page just for trying to read an article or get a recipe.
Every app shouldn't be like every other app. Instagram didn't need reels and a shop. TikTok doesn't need a store. Instagram doesn't need to be connected to Facebook. I don't want my apps to do everything, I want a hub for a specific thing, and I'll go to that place accordingly.
I love discord, but so much information gets lost to it. I don't want to join to view things. I want to lurk on forums. I want to be a user who can log in and join a conversation by replying to a thread, even if that conversation was two days ago. I know discord has threads, it's not the same. I don't want to have to verify my account with a phone number. I understand safety and digital concerns, but I'm concerned about information like that with leaks everywhere, even with password managers.
I shouldn't have to pay subscriptions to use services and get locked out of old versions. My old disk copy of photoshop should work. I should want to upgrade eventually because I like photoshop and supporting the business. Adobe is a whole other can of worms here.
Streaming is so splintered across everything. Shows release so fast. Things don't get physical releases. I can't stream a movie I own digitally to friends because the share-screen blocks it, even though I own two digital copies, even though I own a physical copy.
I have an iPod, and I had to install a third party OS to easily put my music on it without having to tangle with iTunes. Spotify bricked hardware I purchased because they were unwillingly to upkeep it. They don't pay their artists. iTunes isn't even iTunes anymore and Apple struggles to upkeep it.
My TV shows me ads on the home screen. My dad lost access to eBook he purchased because they were digital and got revoked by the company distributing them. Hitman 1-3 only runs online most of the time. Flash died and is staying alive because people love it and made efforts to keep it up.
I have to click "not now" and can't click "no". I don't just get emails, they want to text me to purchase things online too. My windows start search bar searches online, not just my computer. Everything is blindly called an app now. Everything wants me to upload to the cloud. These are good tools! But why am I forced to use them! Why am I not allowed to own or control them?
No more!!!!! I love my iPod with so much storage and FLAC files. I love having all my fics on my harddrive. I love having USBs and backups. I love running scripts to gut suck stuff out of my Windows computer I don't want that spies on me. I love having forums. I love sending letters. I love neocities and webpages and webrings. I will not be scanning QR codes. Please hand me a physical menu. If I didn't need a smartphone for work I'd get a "dumb" phone so fast. I want things to have buttons. I want to use a mouse. I want replaceable batteries. I want the right to repair. I grew up online and I won't forget how it was!
glad this post is resonating with the local populace fr
Hmmm. 150 pages left then I need to decide if I want to wait for our publisher to print out the translation of the 3rd book or buy it in english… Wouldn’t be the first miss-matched set I have. I’m all for supporting our publishers but sometimes they take years to print books and this one ends on a damn cliffhanger.
August is Anal Health and Pleasure Month! For this very special month, we've created this list to point you to our resources and give you a few tips to support a positive sexual relationship with your bum:
As a sexual health organization, most of the questions we get about the anus are about anal sex. Some of the most common questions we get are about how to be safe, how to minimize any discomfort or pain, and how to maximize pleasure. Though everyone’s body is different, a little prep can go a long way towards all of those aims.
The anus doesn’t produce its own lubrication like the vagina or an uncircumcised penis does. This can make that tissue a little more likely to tear, but this difference can be easily managed by having plenty of lube on hand, using it generously, and by starting slow. Your body is the best guide here as it is with other kinds of sex: if things feel comfortable and good, you can move forward, whether that means moving from a finger to a toy (don't forget that toys for anal play MUST have a flared base for safety!), or letting a partner know they can go deeper or faster if they want to, too.
It may be comforting to know that feces are less of an issue with anal sex than you might think. The anus itself is empty most of the time, because stool is stored further up the large intestine. Heather Corinna discusses this and more in this response to someone looking to try anal sex with their partner for the first time. If you are going to engage in anal sex with a partner, you and they may also find this piece about going and being inside someone else's body by Heather and CJ Turett helpful, too.
As a part of her excellent series for us on pelvic health, physiotherapist Caitlin Tivy offers help understanding anodyspareunia: pain that occurs during anal sex. Her step-by-step guide offers advice for approaching anal sex if you’re worried about pain.
It’s remarkably easy (and human!) to hurt ourselves in the pursuit of feeling good. Despite planning, there is still a chance we may get hurt during sex. Getting hurt in the pursuit of feeling good is just something that happens sometimes. That's why we have this article for how to manage (& prevent) sex-related injuries, including anal fissures and genital soreness.
As always, if you're looking for advice and support you can reach us through our direct services. We're serious about cultivating a judgment-free environment so we mean it when we say you can ask us all the questions about bodies, sex, and anything else you might be holding back from asking others! We are here for you when you need us <3
Myth: "I only wear vegan fabrics. Better for the animals, better for the planet." Let's check in on Doris's annual contribution. Once a year, in late spring, Doris is sheared. The procedure takes approximately three minutes. Doris does not enjoy it. Doris does not, by any visible measure, suffer from it. Doris is, immediately afterwards, a noticeably more comfortable animal in the British summer. The fleece weighs approximately 3 kilograms. It is sold to the British Wool Marketing Board for, depending on the year, between £0.40 and £2.50 per kilogram. The shearing costs more than the wool fetches. Brian is shearing Doris at a loss. The wool is then: - Naturally flame-retardant - Naturally antibacterial - Moisture-wicking - Biodegradable - Renewable, annually - Carbon-storing while in use The replacement, in performance fabrics: - Polyester - Polyamide - Acrylic - Polypropylene - All petroleum-derived - All shedding microplastics on every wash - All requiring fossil fuel inputs to produce - All non-biodegradable, with a typical landfill lifespan of 200-500 years A single wash of a polyester fleece can release up to 700,000 microplastic fibres into the water system. These fibres are now in: every tested water source on earth, every tested human placenta, every tested rainfall sample, the deep ocean, the Arctic ice, and the lungs of marine mammals. A single wash of a wool jumper releases: nothing. The wool, when eventually disposed of, returns to soil within a few years. The fabric being marketed as the "ethical" alternative to wool is plastic. The plastic is "ethical" because nobody has been asked to slaughter the polymer. The polymer also has not been asked. Doris, by being a sheep on a fell, is producing the most thoroughly sustainable performance fabric humans have ever made. Brian is selling it at a loss. The fashion industry, meanwhile, is selling petroleum at a profit and calling it ethical. Reject plastic. Wear wool. Doris is, this morning, growing next year's batch.
Note: if you're allergic to wool, you might be allergic to the dyes and fine with undyed wool. Maybe not, but it's worth a try.
