Oh wow. Actual physical aversion to drawing my own comic. Ok. Ok. Fuck.
Reblog and put in the tags the book that is physically nearest to you at this moment.
It’s been the kind of day that culminated in my telling someone moments ago that the date was the fifth of Wednesday.
I hope you all have a really good fifth of Wednesday.

“Remember, nothing tastes as good as skinny feels 😇”
Send me to Mars with party supplies before next august 5th
No guys you don’t understand.
The soil testing equipment on Curiosity makes a buzzing noise and the pitch of the noise changes depending on what part of an experiment Curiosity is performing, this is the way Curiosity sings to itself.
So some of the finest minds currently alive decided to take incredibly expensive important scientific equipment and mess with it until they worked out how to move in just the right way to sing Happy Birthday, then someone made a cake on Curiosity’s birthday and took it into Mission control so that a room full of brilliant scientists and engineers could throw a birthday party for a non-autonomous robot 225 million kilometres away and listen to it sing the first ever song sung on Mars*, which was Happy Birthday.
This isn’t a sad story, this a happy story about the ridiculousness of humans and the way we love things. We built a little robot and called it Curiosity and flung it into the star to go and explore places we can’t get to because it’s name is in our nature and then just because we could, we taught it how to sing.
That’s not sad, that’s awesome.
*this is different from the first song ever played on mars (Reach For The Stars by Will.I.Am) which happened the year before, singing is different from playing
This is humanity
Happy Birthday, Curiousity.
Happy birthday, Curiosity.
Happy birthday, Curiosity!
saw a tweet the other day asking how people could be multifandom
idk i like multiple things? i know it sounds bizarre but sometimes people enjoy several things at the same time. hope that helps!
How can you be single fandom? O_o I get that sometimes people focus on one thing but just because I found a new thing doesn’t magically make me forget all the rest that I like.
Human beings b like. *sits and stares peacefully at a fire* *sits and stares peacefully at the ocean* *sits and stares peacefully at a sleeping animal*
a small rhythmic motion: is happening
us for 6 million years and counting: talented brilliant showstopping incredible
big tease

That latest ep of HOTD was good.

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms 1.04
Something I hate about AI is having to crush my parents’ enthusiasm over seeing something. My mom will show me a recipe or fabric art or pet videos all excited and then I have to go “that’s not real”. And she can’t see that because unlike me she didn’t spend 20 years looking at photos and photoshopped stuff and can’t tell the real from the fake.
She gets so excited and I get to be the bearer of the bad news.
And sometimes I can’t even tell what it is that makes me suspicious over something other than “it looks perfect / too clean”.

i love how gross a knight of the seven kingdoms is. not just gory (which is awesome too) but they’re not letting you forget that dunk fucking stinks to high heaven. there is no illusion of sanitation. you know there’s no plumbing. no waste removal. everyone’s got dirt on their face at some time or other because they don’t have mirrors or cameras fucking everywhere keeping them self conscious. it’s beautiful that these people are abandoning the relative tranquility of nature and entering this mucky smelly nasty place because that’s where the people are and people want to be around people. sanitized palatable depictions have their place in media but god i just love when things are real. ignore the dragons.
Speaking of medieval history, it's fun how the popular accounts are all "the peasantry disliked nobles, but typically loved the King and attributed any harmful decisions to bad advisors", and then the rare examples of surviving testimony from actual peasants are like "I hope the King literally explodes".
Popular histories: Medieval peasants understood themselves as inhabiting a cosmic order in which the King was their divinely appointed superior.
Actual medieval peasant: God, please set the King and everyone who looks like him on fire, Amen.
