The way Morty becomes frightened when Rick tries to hug him back. Comforted just knowing he’s there. He doesn’t get scared when Rick leans forwards/moves his arm. Normally, this is when Rick would shove him away. He’s fine with that, but when Rick becomes gentle, Morty flinches.

I was surprised to see Rick quickly regretting his choice of words after he saw Morty run away. Even he knows what he said to Morty was very out of line, knowing it hit on a bit too personal spot for Morty.
It is a subtle moment that shows he says cruel things without thinking. It reminds me of how he yelled at Summer back in the episode ¨Air Force Wong¨ and then quietly apologized for it.
I think Rick is capable of changing like we have shown in the past but he is still stuck in old habits of lashing out, giving the idea that he is in a fight with his own self.
I have said it before that something huge probably needs to happen to be his wake up call, because if not, he is going to keep doing similar things to Morty and others.

I think this scene really shows how much both of them have grown over the past 9 seasons!!
Morty is confident enough to call rick out on his lie
And Rick is aware enough to know he crossed a line
But it's not enough!! Rick has made various decisions to traumatize (both knowingly and unknowingly) morty in a way that literally changed how morty is as a person, and the fact that he loves morty doesn't change the damage he has caused.
Rick still hurt Morty's feelings, and I'm glad we are exploring both the ups and downs of their relationship , especially the juxtaposition we get each episode
having to come to terms with the fact that love is not an everlasting performance in which you attempt to retain the attention of your significant other but rather a release of control and putting faith into them and trusting them to choose to stay with you no matter what you have to offer

-So, I'm working on a little project. I'd like to put together all my old DA comics into a little comic book, but they are awfully drawn and incorrect. Sooo I'm redrawing them. Yeah. I would like to print them with better art, correct English grammar, and with fixed mistakes.
