Is the book out? How can we purchase it?
We’ve had to wait till my uni release copyright back to me because it was part of my dissertation SO it’ll be released on February 22nd. There’ll be a HUGE post about it soon :D (really sorry that it’s coming out so much later than previously expected but it gives me time to make extra tweaks and make it better)

So, my personal story has to do with the fact that I was sexually abused, and how I love Kate Beckett's lines about joy and Espo's line about making her trials a strength. I know you said nothing sexually explicit, but is it okay to mention that because without it I'm not sure if it holds the same weight...
It’s fine to mention that. I was more concerned with people trying to send in something smutty because I knew there’d be at least one person who’d try.

A lot of people have asked so the deadline has been extended to the 12th July so you have a bit of extra time. Time-wise, I'm being lenient and letting it be 12pm in your own timezon :)
WHAT IS DEAR MR. CASTLE? In 2009, a famous mystery novelist was brought in for questioning by the NYPD regarding a copy-cat murder. The end result? Richard Castle charmed his way into shadowing one of New York’s finest, Detective Kate Beckett. ABC’s Castle has steadily become one of the most popular TV shows in the world with a legion of passionate fans behind it.
Dear Mr. Castle will be a not-for-profit novel that will feature a compilation of stories, letters and pictures from Castle fans around the globe. The project will be dedicated to Terri Edda Miller, Andrew Marlowe and to every single one of the wonderful individuals who helped create it. Without the writers, the producers, all the people behind the scenes and the beautiful cast, Castle wouldn’t be what it is. Each story, letter and picture will be a small personal fragment representing the fandom, detailing how Castle has impacted and inspired their lives. Our main objective is to shower them with love, thanks yous and the knowledge of how they’ve trasformed thousand of lives.
The deadline for the project has been extended to June 30th 2015 July 12th 2015. The book will be released for sale in September 2015 with all profits being donated to The Young Storytellers Foundation in honour of Terri Edda Miller and Andrew Marlowe. Copies of the book will also be posted to MilMar and to the Castle set.
1. THE BOOK The Dear Mr Castle book is your opportunity to put your own personal story into words about how Castle has impacted, inspired and affected your life. Why do you love this show? How much does it mean to you? What part or parts affected you the most? Which character(s) have you felt most connected to? You can compose a simple letter, style it like a story or poem. Just be you. Have fun and be as creative as you want. You ca attach pictures (of you in a costume, with merchandise or a simple selfie) or drawings/digital art (but nothing that uses any copyright images).
Email your submissions to [email protected] with ‘Dear Mr. Castle Submission’ as the subject title. Don’t forget to leave your name, age (which is optional), and what country you’re from with your letter. You’re also welcome to leave your twitter handle etc if you wish.
2. FOR TERRI AND ANDREW As you may or may not be aware, Terri and Andrew have stepped away from the show after seven wonderful years. We want you to submit short messages (nothing over 150 words) for a special section of the book. This part will be dedicated purely for your messages to MilMar saying thank you for the last seven years, good luck for the future and words of love. Without MilMar there would never have been Castle, therefore, I feel it important that we thank them with all the love in our hearts.

3. FOR PENNY JOHNSON JERALD Penny was abruptly dropped from the show a few weeks ago without any warning whatsoever and understandably many of you are still angered by it as it looks like we won’t even get any form of goodbye scene from Penny within the show. We want you to submit your letters and short messages to the “O Captain, My Captain” part of the book which will be dedicated to your goodbyes.

I will be getting my letter/story to you in the next couple days via email. I am so sorry it's sort of delayed, but it will be to you by the deadline! How do you want it sent? Word Document? Typed in the email? I'm not sure how this works.
Don’t worry about it. The deadline’s not for another 2 weeks. Sending it as a word document is fine. Some people have done that, others have written it in the email. Basically, which option you find easiest as long as the letter is in there somewhere :’)
Can we write a letter in a letter? Like, I want to write something for each actor. Ex: Dear MilMar, (insert something here) Dear Stana, (insert something here). All in one letter. I'll try to keep it short. You get my point?
I understand what you mean. You can do that as long as there’s some sort of introductory paragraph to your letters that talk about how the show has inspired, influenced etc your life, how much the show in general means to you. I want the whole book to be something everyone who has worked on Castle can treasure and read, not solely directed towards the cast because they’re the face of it. Hope that helps :’)
I would love to join the book with my own letter. I was just curious, though. What am I supposed to do? And, is is supposed to be written a particular way?
You can write it in whatever way you want, it’s your own personal story. It can be a standard letter or a poem. You can write about how you discovered Castle, the friends it’s helped you make, how it has inspired or influenced your life, what your favourite characters or moments are. You can also talk about how much you love the show and offer your thanks and praise to the Castle cast and crew for all that they’ve done. Hope that helps :’)
How long is too long for the first part of the book? I know for the MilMar portion you said 150 words or less! :)

So when you say "pictures".. Are letters/pictures mixed allowed? :)
Yupp. Some people have attached pictures of themselves with their letters and others have just submitted pieces of art work on their own. It’s completely up to you.
A segment of the Dear Mr. Castle project will be dedicated purely to Andrew and Terri and a portion of it will feature the top 5 episodes they’ve written either together or separately as voted for by the fandom.

Hey hey, the book will be self-published and will be available to order online in hardback and paperback. All the information and links about it will be posted around the end of August/start of September. The book should also hopefully be available in PDF and eBook so you can buy it on Amazon and iBooks.

hey so basically all we have to do is write a letter then email it to you? do we have to put some identification or can we sign it with whatever we want at the end?? :))
