John was going on tour with his band ‘queen’ that was increasingly rising to fame. You wanted to go with him so badly but the timing just didn’t work out. Him leaving you made you so upset, knowing after a while you’d forget his touch and the scent of his cologne would soon fade from the t-shirt he would lend you. Not only did you miss him dearly, but it made you so anxious that he would be around so many other young, gorgeous women who weren’t you. Just the thought of other girls drunkily flirting with him made your heart ache. ‘What if he forgets about me and leaves me for some groupie?’ Your mind seemed to draw out some of the most bizarre scenarios in your head, making you become more anxious…

“If you miss me, you know I’m just a phone call away.” assured John.

“Promise you’ll answer?” you said with begging eyes.

“I promise”

You wrapped your arms around him and pulled him into a tight hug. John planted a kiss on the top of your forehead.

“I’ll miss you y/n”

“I’ll miss you too… I love you”

“I love you too.”

There was a silence for a moment. You looked out of the window of the airport trying to hide the fact that you were on the brink of bursting into tears.

“My flights about to leave, I really better get going.” he gave you one last kiss.

“Alright, be careful… and make sure to call me when you get off the plane so I know you made it there safely”

“I will, I love you darling, goodbye…”

“Goodbye, John…”

Deacy walked away and you stood in the middle of the airport watching him as tears rolled down your face. Knowing you weren’t going to be able to see him for a while made your heart ache.

The next few months were hell. You missed him so much, more than anything. He’d call you occasionally when he had the chance, but most times the calls were rushed. You missed talking to him in person, you missed the clarity of his voice. Every now and then you would find a live queen concert on television to watch, and he looked amazing up on stage. You missed it. You missed kissing him, playing with his hair, hugging him tightly, you missed his touch.

You sat around watching television, waiting for him to call. The phone rung and you rushed to go pick it up.

“Y/n?”

“Hey, John”

“How are you?”

“I’m alright, but I really miss you.”

“I miss you too…”

“You looked really good up on stage, I saw one of your performances on the television the other day.”

John rubbed the back of his neck.

“Oh thank you, love. Did you notice?”

“Notice what?” you asked.

“That I waved at the end just for you?”

“Oh yes, it was lovely, thank you.”

Your voice trailed off and there was silence.

“So… it’s getting towards the end of the tour correct?”

“It is”

“When do you think you’ll be back home?”

“In about… five weeks maybe? We have a couple more shows”

“five more weeks is better than five more months I suppose” you stated.

“Yeah for sure” he replied.

“Y/n…” his voiced trailed off for a moment as if he was searching for words to say.

“I miss you so much y/n, I really do… I miss hugging you and kissing you and cuddling with you all night long- and the way you would ask me to talk about my day or ask me to tell a story when you were trying to fall asleep because you wanted to fall asleep to my voice… because of how you said you loved my voice and how calming it was… I miss the little things you would do y/n. You make me so happy and this distance is absolutely killing me… I miss you so much…”

You were at a loss of words and tears rolled down your face.

“I really miss you too, John… everyday I look forward to seeing new pictures of you and the boys, I look forward to seeing the interviews of you on the television, even if you don’t talk that much-“ you giggled softly. “I look forward to your calls and listening to your voice, but after all of that- all I want to do is lay in your arms…”

Tears rushed from his eyes. You knew how much he missed you and how badly the distance was tearing him apart.

“I love you, y/n”

“I love you more”

There was a pause and then you heard voices in the background of the call.

“I’m so sorry darling but- I have to go, it’s getting so late.”

“Alright, I love you. Tell the boys I said hello…” you said as you wiped away some of your tears.

“I definitely will. Bye-bye, love” he hung up the phone.

It had been two weeks since the last time you heard from him. You kept calling and he wouldn’t pick up. You were genuinely worried about him and you missed him so much. Being away from him was bad enough, but now not even being able to communicate with him? It was devastating.

You heard a knock on the door while you were upstairs in your room reading a novel. Not wanting to get up, you ignored it. But surely enough, you heard them knock again. Puting your book down, you got up from your bed and walked downstairs. They knocked again.

“Coming!!” you yelled into the air with a slight groan.

You unlocked the door and opened it. It was John.

“Oh my God!” you squealed in happiness as you pulled him in for a tight hug. John pulled you in for a kiss.

“Wait- how did you get home so early? I thought your tour was lasting for at least three more weeks?” you said out of curiosity.

“Some of the shows got cancelled. The guys wanted to stay America for the remaining few weeks, but I told them I wanted to come home to see you”

“I missed you so much y/n”
