That's right, there is now a Dead Boy Detective Anonmeme up and running!

What is an anonmeme? An anonmeme (also know as a 'kinkmeme' or 'prompt meme') is where a person posts prompt (basic plot set up), and another user fills this request with either a piece of fanart or a fanfic.

Are NSFW prompts welcome? Yep, prompts of all kind are welcome on the DBD Anonmeme. This includes any pairing (or no pairings), NSFW, SFW, AUs, fix-its, and anything else you can think of! There are no right or wrong prompts.

Do I need an account to use the Anonmeme? Nope! You can leave prompts on the Dreamwidth meme without an account. You can also send them via Tumblr, and I will post it on Dreamwith for you.

What is this blog for? This blog works as a crossover platform for all prompts, both on Tumblr and Dreamwidth to show them to a wider audience. This means if you send a prompt via Tumblr, I will also post it to Dreamwidth, and vice versa.

Are there any rules? Yes, but just basic ones. However, as Tumblr and Dreamwidth work differently, there are some rules on Dreamwidth I won't go over here; please read the Rules and Guidelines page on Dreamwith before prompting on there.

1. Be clear in your prompt. If you want something, say it. If you don't want something, say it. 2. Spoiler warn for new episodes. 3. Do not repost/resubmit a prompt within 2 weeks - and only if the prompt is unfilled. Virgin Sacrifice!Edwin is being sold, in chains and naked on auction, for what demon will take his virginity — Charles, half demon on his dads side, challenges powerful demons to purchase him. Thing is the contract requires a binding, and now Charles has to claim his prize in a circle of jeering demons.

Charles whispering gentle things, asking for Edwin's name and how he can make things good for him, trying to make him feel safe even as he opens him up, chains dragging as Edwin writhes.

Important Petition Information

In August 2025, the person who originally organized the Save Dead Boy Detectives petition announced that he planned to delete the petition on the anniversary of the show’s cancellation. The Save Dead Boy Detectives team suggested several alternate solutions, including offering to take the petition over, working out a method of providing shared access, bringing the matter to Change.org directly, and more. Repeated steps were taken by all parties in order for us not to lose the petition and its progress.

This person has had full and sole control of the Save Dead Boy Detectives petition since its creation in September 2024, and unfortunately no other member of the campaign has ever been able to access it. The team wanted checks and balances put in place, but those efforts were not received well. We apologize for this oversight, and we recognize now that these sort of precautions should have been in place from the beginning. We'll do better going forward.

While this choice may be disheartening, it's not something we're going to let deter us. Given that people are still actively donating money to a petition that is planned to be taken down without notice, we've opted to create a new one to replace it. We've allocated funds to boost its visibility and have put safeguards in place to make sure nothing like this happens again. If you have any questions about the steps we're taking for the future, please feel free to reach out to the Save Dead Boy Detectives team and we're happy to share details.

I'm still passively monitoring the meme, but it's unfortunately become too inactive to continue focusing a lot of my attention on. New prompts will be posted as they come in and new fills will be posted in a monthly round-up, as well as on the DBDA Anonmeme Bluesky.

I want to finish off this update by saying a huge thank you to everyone who has participated in the DBDA Anonmeme; this is the first anonmeme I've run and everyone has made it an amazing experience. I hope one day Dead Boy Detectives is picked back up and with it new life is breathed into this meme - I will be awaiting that day.

Edwin/Charles — AU where Charles has been a demon all along

Maybe this has been done, but I haven’t seen it yet (probably because it would be a more difficult premise than the other way around).

Could be darkfic or not, could be porny or not (no big squicks, nopes, or triggers, so knock yourself out!), but I’d be intrigued to see a demon!Charles who followed Edwin out of Hell - maybe to bring him back at first, or maybe he’s the one who let Edwin escape.

He just really liked Edwin for some reason, and it was fun to set up shop with him on earth and see the person he became when he (thought he) was free. But by now it’s all completely real for Charles (or maybe it always has been?) and he can’t lose Edwin, not to Hell again and not to Edwin’s sense of betrayal when he finds out the truth.

Maximum angst potential here (for Crystal too, oh no), I’m kind of scaring myself actually, but I’ve seen happy/hopeful endings against worse odds!

Edwin/Charles or Gen — Time Loop

Edwin (alternatively Charles) is trapped in a time loop that starts after the gang saves Becky Aspen and ends when the Baby Doll Spider Demon snatches Edwin to bring him back to Hell.

Edwin (or Charles), with the knowledge of every previous loops, tries his best to avoid this fate and, at the same time, may try to save his friends from hurting so much in some cases.

The problem is that he cannot not save Niko, nor the Devlin family, etc. his conscience won't allow it.

Possible plot twist: when he succeeds in avoiding Hell, the time loops keep going (maybe the cause is that some feelings need to be realized, and Hell is a great incentive 🤭).

I would love some alternating POV, but it's up to the author.

Edwin/Charles — ASMRtists in love

Niko has a popular ASMR channel on YouTube which occasionally features her quiet roommate in videos either as a human prop (like "ASMR Hairplay, whispers, real human!!!" Or "like ASMR Nail Art Party! REAL PERSON") or as a solo feature in ambience videos, like with him hand writing notes as he studies or something.

Cut to Charles' bff Crystal gets a new girlfriend (Niko) and Crystal shows him her YouTube channel to try and explain what it is she even does (neither are aware of ASMR prior to this).
